A very short write-up in the Football talk thread.  Played in front of about 20.

Think they won 3-0 with a Greenacre Hattrick.

Yes, but due to an earlier than advertised start the only witness to his first two goals was a stray dog urinating on the pitch in contravention of council regulations.

Yeah. Peter Triantis and another Aussie lad (Reece someone) played in the game for the Nix.

Shame its an unofficial match

She who must be obeyed, 2 x kids and me!  All looking forward to it. These games are a great way for the kids to meet the players, get photos with them etc. (in no way is dad living his life through his kids getting photos of course!!!)

Guys.  Don't get carried away with your plans.

To be confirmed but I think the game is off tomorrow, replaced with something today.

The game tomorrow has been replaced with one at 10:30 this morning still at newtown.

Club can't Facebook or Tweet it as they are not 'official' games and the FFA rules are stupid.

Seem to  be doing plenty to make that difficult this year!

What, by moving a training game that a dozen people turn up to?

There are several possible reasons why they'd move the time of such a game.

Allegedly

A "training game" played on a Saturday afternoon last year had a turnout of about four or five hundred people in sh*thouse conditions at Hutt Park Last year.

And a training game at Wakefield last Wednesday had a turn-out of 20.

The Nix aren't even trying to publicise these, YF are simply publishing the info if you're interested.

No biggie.

The Nix aren't allowed to publicise these.  There are implications if they promote them which makes them an 'official' game with a pile of FFA regulations around them.

that is a wee bit dissapointing though. Bring on the new owners!

And if the new owners want to be involved in where and when the team trains and whether they can change that at short notice then we really are DOOOOOOMED!

Unrealistic expectations about what new ownership might mean for the Nix, noted. Perhaps Gareth Morgan will buy me a pony.

Yup Wednesday night, kicked off earlier than it should have......

My kids have been gaggin to see them since the season finished and afraid Wednesday nights dont really give that chance.

I realise it is no biggie, but in previous years and it may just be my perception, the Nix seemed to do anything the could to help drum up support. Seems to have been less 'signings and appearances than previously

I wasnt referring to those FFA rules you pointed out, i was more saying that the change is dissapointing.

I know the new owners wouldnt be able to change any of this, Im just hoping we can get some positive news soon

Shielding the players and coaching staff from unnecessary distractions and questions from stoopid reporters perhaps???

Its pretty obvious why the moved the game. Saturdays are weekends which are time and a half. Terry is trying to save on wages.

Its no longer a problem.

So... was anyone at the match? What happened?

Only if I'm allowed to actually talk about football of course.
