Hi Guys,

I am a fan of the Phoenix and I live in the UK, I have been after a phoenix jersey for a while and all the .com.nz companies don't seem to post to the UK.... I believe the Phoenix club shop might.. however I want last seasons home shirt without the sponsor in a long sleeve (just to be awkward)

Can anyone help me out?

Also does anyone know if the club offers a distance fan membership? As I would like enter the comp to come to see the Phoenix's last game in 2015.

Cheers :)

If you can't get someone to post directly to the UK, I'm happy to have you post it to me and then arrange to send it to you in the UK.

As for membership, what you want is to be a club member. Costs $75 NZD

"A Club Membership means you are a member of the Club itself, giving you insights behind the scenes of the Club, access to members-only on-line content and the satisfaction of knowing that you are part of a club of fanatical football supporters. A Club Membership is also perfect for supporters outside Wellington"

Try

www.ryos.co.nz

and

http://www.nzsoccershop.co.nz/

I got my long sleeve from the later, and were really helpful. The former support Yellow fever and are always excellent to deal with.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

The only place Ive seen a long sleeve stripey still for sale without the front of shirt sponsor is Rebel Sport Lyall Bay.

There is another option. Nz post has a service called YouPost which allows you to ship things that normally don't ship overseas to nz. You get it sent to them and they forward it to you. I presume it works in reverse and they will forward things from nz overseas, you should look in to it.

It's actually called youshop, they don't mention shipping Internationally but they might if you ask, they ought to it'd be a good way to get stuff to expats like vogels or vegemite/marmite or something. Pineapple lumps and what not.

Yeah not sure about that. US, UK and China (which YouShop also now offer addresses for) are pretty big international markets. Not sure there would be a company out there who would offer NZ postal addresses. When pineapple lumps and whittakers chocolate gets sent to the UK its usually by someones mum

The shirt without sponsor was only available for a limited time at the beginning of last season WHEN THERE WAS NO SPONSOR!
Many Phoenix supporters in Wellington couldn't buy that shirt, because it sold out very quickly. There may be a few of these shirts for sale in Wellington sport shops, as identified above, but they will be few and far between.
This site was selling the long sleeve and short sleeve shirt without sponsor on the front, about a year ago:

 http://www.nzsoccershop.co.nz/

For the other stuff, I believe that you've already had suggestions, but for general enquiries I'd recommend a new-fangled thing called the interweb. If you use something called GOOGLE  it will provide answers to the general questions you are asking.

Tips for a new GOOGLE player in the UK

- GOOGLE is available via www.google.co.uk or www.google.com

- Wellington Phoenix site is cunningly disguised as : http://www.wellingtonphoenix.com/

- Shirts are available on : http://www.phoenixshop.co.nz/

- If you hear a funny noise when you look for these sites, it's time to ditch dial-up

PS.I'd like a free trip to watch the FA Cup Final at Wembley  2015, let me know if you can help out.
BTW: That's WEM-BER-LEY! ENG-GER-LAND! in case you were wondering.

to be fair these shirts are basically non existent on the net. I looked for a long time myself to find a short sleeve without the sponsor, couldn't find squat.

ukphoenix, I will head along to my local rebel sport and see what they have in stock and report back. Happy to be the middle man

Just adding my experience - Ryos are happy to send to me in Scotland, so presumably they send to rUK as well. Just watch the customs guys - got a couple of shirts (for me and a Scottish mate I converted) and a t-shirt - ended up over the limit for VAT exemption, so got charged nearly £50 in customs charges and admin fees.

EDIT - oh, and I still keep up my membership from when I was in NZ, so I only get charged $50 as it's a renewal. I kinda feel bad about that actually, because they pay nearly that to post the merch out.

They are at the Adidas shop in Dressmart Tawa, oh and extra 40% off till tomorrow.  So, about $50 each!!

The ones without sponsor are behind those that do have one on the rack.

I looked at them but already have a stripey so didn't buy one.

Thanks for all the offers of help guys, but I am still concerned about the import duties etc. Has anyone had any experience of posting out of NZ to the UK? And knows how to deal with all of the riff raff that comes with it

I doubt there would be any import duties on a NZ $100 shirt. If there was though you would get a letter in the mail saying you owe 10% tax or whatever, and how you can go about paying it. No big deal.

I got a short sleeved sponsorless Stripey (2013 vintage) from Sportsworld Queensgate (opposite the mall and downt he road towards Rebel Sport) a few weeks ago and they had quite a few on the rack.

Interesting stuff about the no sponsor. Was wondering why mine didn't have a sponsor logo on the front, so obvious now I think about it.

So it seems that there is not really much chance of a jersey being picked up by customs and therefore charged extra import duties.

You make a purchase and take the chance, after you've checked the delivery fee

Obviously personal YF Courier is the best delivery option, altho this may involve a significant drinks tab :-)

The UK policy on tax duty for purchases abroad:  https://www.gov.uk/goods-sent-from-abroad/tax-and-..

2. Tax and duty

You’ll be contacted by Royal Mail, Parcelforce or the courier company explaining how to pay any European Union (special territories (eg the Canary Islands) if they’re:

  • gifts worth more than £36
  • other goods worth more than £15
  • alcohol, tobacco products and fragrances (eg perfume, eau de toilette and cologne) - of any value

You pay VAT rate that applies to your goods. VAT is charged on the total value, including:

  • the price paid for the goods
  • postage, packaging and insurance
  • any duty you owe

Tip for new players : google! :-)

Hi bro, I've been living between England and Wales since '07 and have picked up various Knights, Nix, Chiefs, and AB gear from home, either through mum or the shops listed above.  Never had any worries.

Only real issue I've had is that some kiwi companies charged me GST when exported which they should not have.

Really no different to buying something off Amazon US.

PS You can pick up AW shirts from Sports Direct.  The Watford branch has loads on the shelf for £30.
