I see from the link on the front page to the Hartlepool Times that...

"It looks like Phoenix have decided not to pursue that option (Porter) after handing a trial to former St Johnstone, Sc**thorpe and Falkirk striker Daniel McBreen.

The 31-year-old forward was raised in Australia and is available on a free transfer after being released by St Johnstone earlier this month."

It is just me or does this have a "Knights"recruitment feel about it?  Too old and playing in the UK Lower Leagues...

Although it does say "trial" so i guess that is a good thing

Covered in the transfer speculation thread douggie.  McBreen was here last week, quite a few of us watched him play and weren't convinced, I don't think the club was either.

He's the 4th or 5th player (not counting youngsters) who have been with the club in the last month or so, but that doesn't mean they will all automatically be signed.

Incidentally, he trialled at Adelaide the week before so others think he is worth a look as well.

Unfortunately McBreen has not been offered a contract with the Phoenix for Season 08/09.  He did not suit our setup and we wish him all the best for the future.
