Oktoberfest T-Shirts

Guten tag all!

I'm sure I'm not the only person here excited about the Oktoberfest game. Even though I cannot claim German ethnicity, I say that if everyone is Irish on St. Paddy's Day, everyone can be German on Oktoberfest. And since I'm actually Irish on my mothers side, I'm owed one

I'm keen about making up some T-shirts especially for Oktoberfest for those who can't procure lederhosen on the day. The idea for the design came simply from the German Coat of Arms looking somewhat like a Phoenix, something that has been pointed out before.

Basically, it'd be yellow with a black and a red stripe to suggest the German flag, with a Phoenix-like crest (I'm thinking similair to the German symbol, with red flames on the wings to signify it's a phoenix, and holding a football and a pint in it's talons!). I'm also thinking of having some text either on the back or above/beneath one of the stripes.

Here's a basic idea of what it should be:

Out of curiosity, would anyone else be keen to buy one of these? I'm gonna get a quote on printing/making, so if anyone else wants one I might place a bulk order (after getting the payment since I'm a student and will only have enough money for my own)

Here's a basic idea of what I'm thinking

I've also made this post a poll so you can vote on what text I should put on it, if any.

Also please note that this is not an official Yellow Fever product. If the YF brass would like to endorse or even take over this project (to which I'd probably prefer haha) then I'd be more than happy for that to change.

NB: The poll options are in English, but will actually be in German. I couldn't fit the translation and the text. So if you vote "Phoenix 'til I die" you're actually voting for "Phoenix bis ich sterbe" (Note, if anyone here actually speaks German, I'd love your help on the final version as Babel Fish isn't perfect...)

Also if anyone could help with making the crest, I'd be VERY appreciative. I know what I want, but I'm not the best at drawing, be it on paper or on Photoshop!

Finally, if anyone wants to post a different idea for an Oktoberfest shirt, please feel free to do so on this thread rather than clogging the forums, I won't be offended if you think you've got a better idea

I thought having t-shirts and steins available but its a bit of coin to outlay. HOWEVER if there is enough interest I could be swayed!

I voted other for:

WELLINGTON IST WUNDERBAR!

I'd probably be up for an XL, depending on what the final design looks like...

I'm not going to buy anything with a German flag, but if I were going to get one of these BroadArrow's suggestion is what I would support.

Haha I couldn't fit the translations on so I put the English phrases up planning to translate them to German before printing :P So I'll mentally count yours as one for "Wellington Is Wonderful". Sorry, I should have made that clearer, my bad! *fixes post*

I preferred your first version: ich bin ein Wellingtonian. LOL. However, I suspect not everyone hanging out here would be old enough to get it...

I too am designing a short for the Oktoberfest, which will look like this:

It will be made of paper, and will cost $150.  Let me know if you are keen.

All I do is make the stuff I would've liked
Reference things I wanna watch, reference girls I wanna bite
Now I'm firefly like a burning kite
And yousa fake fuck like a fleshlight

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Just a note, while I did state that this isn't officially YF product, I failed to mention that this also isn't an official Fever Lounge product, and is not a part of Matt's Oktoberfest plans. It's just a cool thing one bloke wanted to do with his mates and thought to share with others.

I'm working on the logo now and am about to ask for a quote, so hopefully I'll get back with a yay/nay soon.

What I've got for the crest so far. Still needs a little touching up but it's a good start IMHO, especially since I'm no photoshop expert.

(Actual image is of much better quality)

I think this would look great on the back of the Tee, it would help balance it out.

Munich in October can be cold on the outside, but the beer numbs to pain.

They certainly had their chanting sorted at Nuremburg eh?

I cannot believe the poll has not included our most popular chant that with us will never become irrelavant and that is "The Referee is a Wa...."

erm maybe not.
