The way Leo aims, I'd hate to be going to the gents after him.

The bigger question is why, knowing this he didn't move the ball to Smeltz.

Watching this again today Mr News he couldn't have squared it to Smeltz because of the covering tackle sliding in.

Should have finished it, or at least forced a save.

At the start of the season my older brother said that  Bertos would not score for the whole season. after seen the one on one miss (with out the keeper even haven to save it) and then the free kick just out side the box (which was an awful choose not to take more time and have a shot on goal) I can now see where he is coming from. He never looked like he was going to score.

It doesn't matter how much time out of the game someone has had you got to least make a keeper make a save when you are in that position.

We knew before he came we weren't going to get any goals out of him. I'm not sure why people are so surprised.

at least he kicked the ball at the goal....Wellington "afraid to pull the trigger" Phoenix
I like tautologies because I like them.

Actually he kicked the ball at the crowd.

That's what this whole thread is about.

does anyone else think that the entire seagulling frontline (4-5 players?) were off side at the beginning of that move anyway?

just a thought-they looked way off side to me...............

They were as offside and out of place as Helen Clark on the catwalk.

I'd hate to be standing at a urinal either side of him at the same time! these things happen, I like Leo though, he gave their defence a decent wind up a few times after he came on.

Speaking of Mark Richardson and parallels to the Sunderland/Newcastle game - his free kick from just outside the box was freaking amazing.

So Rigor's playing professional football in the Premiership now?
Wow, is there anything that man can't do?

They didn't get involved in the play and can't be offside unles they do. Leo was well on side and was the one to run through

Don't think he ever even managed that many.

In his early days as a batsman he made Gilchrist look like Mike Atherton, 150 in around 120 balls in a tour match against the Windies in about 1995...

Back on topic now.

My Four Four Two blog for this coming thursday is entitled 'Why The Phoenix Can't Score' and reads a little bit like some of this thread, really. I'm just far more witty.
