This is bad news.
I have heard of people changing their IP address so you can watch overseas video. Here is one way I found to watch US.
I haven't tried it tho.

We will never fully decide who has won the football.
I was trying to show my mate highlights from our finals campaign last season and couldn't find it.
Not sure where I'll be to see those ever again. =(
As CboZ says, A-League exposure worldwide surely drops.
By restricting videos on one of the most globally accessible sites in existence it seems to be a classic "cutting-off-nose-to-spite-face" action.Well done to all concerned.
Love to hear their reasons why for this.

No place for highlights=fail, but the broadcasters will be whining.
GREAT.
Agree it is piss poor on the part of the league to restrict their own coverage.
P.S. Also the official A-League site has goals highlights under multi-media on the home page.

ive got a song that wont take long, Adelaide are rubbish.. the second verse is same as the first.. ADELAIDE ARE RUBBISH
We will never fully decide who has won the football.
Hell yes.
Still a completely ridiculous decision especially as they aren't doing f*ck all else. It's not as though they're trying to bump up the audience on their own website highlight section or anything. So incredibly lame.
Surely I can't be the only one who thinks that its not unreasonable for a company who has paid millions of dollars for a product to ask that they are the one's who have the right to decide where it's placed?

I don't think it is unreasonable. They absolutely have the right to do this, and who knows, they may have been pushed by the rights holder (Fox).
My only issue with it is that there is a great chance it is actually counter productive. Robb mentions not understanding social media and the benefits that can come from it. Old highlights don't have much value to rights holders, but can be great for promoting the game and the league when talented amateurs who have the time and the love to put something together are allowed, or even encouraged. The A-league (among many other sports organisation) are reluctant to embrace it at this stage.
Perhaps its about maneuverings to corral and position the football product that is the A League, prior to re-negotiating broadcast rights in the near future.
Maybe its just the exercising of legal commercial rights, and makes commercial sense.
That's very frustrating for those of us who have come to rely on the free access to clips we have enjoyed and shared up until now.
I would certainly welcome a stronger and financially viable A League.God knows, most of the clubs are crying out for it.
Yet shutting down the access without providing an equally user friendly and accessible alternative, risks turning off fans and alienating customers, which makes no commercial sense at all.

What a useless site: A-League highlights not available in Australia!? Yet Australia are part of AFC...
Not really want you're asking for but stumbled across it on youtube the other day. What a superb video.
