Im just wondering (cause ive heard a few posts on other topics)are the Yellow Fever gonna become the Palmy Army for the Sydney match and wear Yellow Buckets on your heads. Personally i think it would be cool with the yellow buckets and possibly yellow boiler suits for those of you who dont have Fever tops.

any thoughts.

So, anybody know where you can get/buy Yellow or Black Boiler suits. Alternatively we could just use those painting suits and paint them black and yellowtomrewi2009-12-08 20:42:22

There's nothing official (unless I've missed something), but a bunch of us have planned to do the bucket thing with no suggestion from the YF exec. I think Scoop was the first to mention it on here, with me and HK Keeper having also come up with the idea independently. Also I remember someone on here having a "RICKI HERBERTS PALMY ARMY" usericon with a yellow buckethead on it before plans for Palmy were even brought up (Wish I knew who because it's an awesome pic)

I don't know how many are going to wear buckets, heck it could end up being just me, but it'd be an awesome thing to see and I'd deo encourage others to join in should they wish.

Haven't heard anything of us being re-named or re-dubbed, I'm guessing you got that from my bucket pic? I just put it on there as decoration

Some of the Palmy bucket lads got in touch with us and asked if we minded them bucketing down with us.  We said as long as the buckets are colour approriate and they bring their singing voices they were more than welcome.

Santa hats, buckets, fever, Palmy Army.  Where will it end?

(Seriously: hoping this is going to bring in a whole new catchment of fans and keep the lads gee'd up as if it was the RoF - except with a speedway track)

Great stuff. I'm not a huge fan of Palmy but I'm a huge fan of Manawatu supporters - Turbos fans are the classiest and loudest fans at any Lions match they travel to, and the Green Frenzy behind YHM are tops

Surely the Yellow Army chant will have to be changed to "Ricki Herberts....Palmy Army....."
Permalink Permalink

Why not just keep ot as "Ricki Herbert's Yellow Army" so the Phoenix will feel like just at home as usual. Their not use to Palmy Army.

you know we belong together,
you and I forever and ever.
No matter where you are,
you're my guiding star.

And from the very first moment I saw you
there was such emotion
I'm walking on air,
just to know (Just to know)
You are there (You are there)

Chorus:
Hold me in your arms
Don't let me go
I want to stay forever
Closer each day....
Home and away...

Because it's a nice city really and doesn't deserve all the slagging off it gets from the rest of NZ and John Cleese.

the rof pitch is in perfect condition. imo it does not need to be changed. Kind of like how St.James park re-turfs every YEAR !!
Permalink Permalink

Better to re-turf before it needs it than after.

SJP is only used for football so there is a small off-season which makes sense to do upkeep of the ground.

RoF is used pretty much all year round so re-turfing makes sense (just a shame it is over the school hols or close to it - when home games could be well supported).

Struggling to find a good supply of Yellow Buckets :P May just have to spray paint a few to get the desired effect.

Also thinking we need to chant:
"Oh Palmerston.. is wonderful.. we've got great big windmills and the Phoenix.. oh Palmerston is wonderful.."goldienz2009-12-09 15:30:45
