I think one of my flatmates played with you out there as a 16/17 year old - Bill King, became a cop in the early - mid 80s. I think a few Kelston BH kids played there [I'm thinking Kelston but it might have been Waitemata].
There were quite a few KBH blokes. Ex AW captain Rodger Gray as well. A great bunch of guys.
Yeah Roger was a cop too [you probably know that] a few of them were playing in yourdays.

I saw him on the news a few years ago, quite high up in the force in Rotorua.
Roger Gray lives in Gisborne, still on the force (as of a year or so ago) and playing football for Wainui.

Fuck this stupid game

Easy catch for 99% of keepers tbh,not under any pressure from any heart strikers.

See how he shows great awareness of the opposition players rather than just charging out and woe betide anyone who gets in his way?

But there is zero accuracy - I'm surprised he didn't punch into his own net.

And he even threw the ball out when the full backs were free.
In your view, punching to an opposing striker is accurate? Unless, of course, he meant to do that? Try not to lose any credibility that you might have on here as a goalkeeping expert with foolish comments like that.

I'm not the one who said 'zero accuracy'.
I never claimed he meant to punch it to a striker.  But what were the other options?  A) leave it or b) try to catch it.  That photo shows he clearly stretched to get it, so I'd much rather have it punch it out side of the box than try catch it, with a good chance of spilling it.

If you think that my comment is foolish, then that says more about you (and your opinion) as I was just mocking your previous comments.

c] With unnerving accuracy, punch the ball to a free Phoenix player who would then turn it into a wonderous attack on the opponent's goal.

Ha Ha. I was going to, but I managed to resist

Lats night, for me, was great to see Pasty back at it again. One weak punch, very early, which summed up to me why he should be catching i, and then he comes back and take the ball like a pro for the rest of the game. There was even another punch, or two, but they were punches where he clearly wasn't able to collect it.

Was so much better to see him able to release players wide, even his throw to halfway which went out.

For me he looked a lot more comfortable in goal too, talking a lot more. I was much happier :)

Not sure facetious is the correct word because a) it isn't a serious issue (or an issue for that matter), and b) it wasn't funny.

happy to say paston proved me wrong last night. Early in the game he did 1 weak punch and i thought "oh god here we go again" and after that eh really dominated his box, i think he caught al the crosses after that

AND THE ONE HE PUNCHED HE DID WELL TO GET TO..

Earlier in the season people were complaining he didn't come out enough, there was no moaning about punching (that was always Moss' problem remember - Paston can actually catch) now that he is coming out for those balls, and punching them away, you lot are saying he punches too much.

Give me strength.

Allegedly

Tegal, I like the cut of your jib

[QUOTE=Jag]Wasn't too long ago that all the teeth gnashing and angst was about how Paston never came for crosses and didn't dominate the box. Now he's getting flak for coming for crosses and punching them.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Cheers for that.
