My prediction is a touch over 8k. Then with some good results we could hit 10k next home game.

PAX may be at 9k at the moment, but a fair chunk of those are promo tickets or freebies, some of which just won't be used. I've been offered some at work from one of our business partners - Revera, but turned them down as I don't need them, and hoping someone else will take up the offer.

Yeah but a good 2000 of those tickets already in existence may not even be used. We'll see. I'll be surprised if we get to 10k

10k is possible. Our season memberships have increased by at least 500 people this year which is positive considering the season we had last year. The weather is looking fine and generally you get a fair amount of people who buy tickets when they get to the stadium. I'd also say that in many cases a couple of thousand people turn up if it is a good day alone. I think the biggest mistake that club has made is the scheduling. Taking the next 2 home games away from Wellington means that it will be over 2 months before the Nix are back at Westpac. This is a huge mistake. People can easily lose interest in that amount of time and by the time the Nix are back in Wellington, half the city will be away on holiday around New Zealand. If we get off to a poor start which is possible considering the injuries and players missing for WQ qualifiers, crowds could drop significantly. While it may strengthen the brand within the country, I think it weakens it here in Wellington where it matters the most.

Our last home game was March 31st. Our next home game (after Sunday) is December 1st.
That's a whole 8 months with just one home game (in which we have a depleted lineup). You're either going to get VERY hungry, or lose interest. I think a lot of punters (not the people on this forum of course) are in the latter unfortunately, and they're going to need a lot of convincing to come back once we have games in Welly again. And that will depend hugely on how we start the season.

I wonder how much of an effect on numbers the Sunday evening games will have. Personally I cant make them unless as part of a bus tour or something where i can sleep on the way home, Saturday night I would stay over. Does anyone have a handle on hour many people travel 3+ hours to get to games?

Pretty stupid comment. 95% of the NZ population have never heard of Riera and the same amount don't care.

So 190% of the population don't care? That's a bit rude.
