I like this.

Maybe, the BB should make announcements like airport departure lounges.

Would those fans holding Pax numbers 1 to 1500 (and those with small children) please make your way to the ground. All other PAXes please wait for further announcements.Turfmoore2010-03-05 18:05:35

I bought first lot of four tickets about 9.08am Monday and second lot of eight tickets about 9.10am Tuesday (it took several minutes to get through). Picked up today. First lot: PAX 167-170. Second lot: PAX 2977-2984. So now I want to know: who got PAX 1?

Pathetic. Not apathetic.

I see someone beat me to the obvious question.

I thought capacity was 34,500 and all seating was sold. Did that many people just not turn up??

Members didn't show.  Round ball not their 'thing'.
Permalink Permalink

Some of them will be stadium members who choose not to use their seats.  Others may have been corporate tickets and freebies that weren't given to the public.

Others might have been on trademe and not sold!

The 'Yellow' Seats did not stcik out as much as the Barhian Game. But still a shame that a couple thousand people decided not to show.

Always means we can beat the record for club footbal in NZ though. Glass half full. scoop2010-03-08 00:26:31

I guess the most important thing is that it beat out the Beckham game.

Sorry but that "record" embarasses me for some reason.

I saw one on the concourse afterward (PAX 301 or thereabouts).

It may have been mentioned elsewhere but Sydney got a good kicking in the big PAX-off.

23,818? That's an informal get together round these parts.

Seriously Sydney, wtf? 23,818?

If I posted a message on here that Paul Ifill was eating his sarnies in Midland Park right now more people than that would turn up.

I reckon Sydney will be struggling to top 32,792 against us this week and, in fact, they need 33,252 or more if they want to beat our aggregate play-offs attendance of 57,070. Melbourne also need 38,617 in two weeks time if they want to beat that figure, but it's a grand final so you would expect that they will.

Sydney's biggest problem crowd-wise this week is probably that:
a) they are playing us who are still not considered that glamorous over there, and
b) quite a few of their fans might consider it a done deal and already be planning to go to Melbourne in two weeks time instead.

I would say point (B).
It annoyed me when Kevin Muscat didn't even mention the Phoenix when asked about Sydney vs. Phoenix after their win. Just talked about Sydney.
Australia are scared and in denial.

If Sydney can only get 23K for visiting Tard hordes, I would find it unbelievable that they would get anything more than for us visiting.

For a start there was probably 2-3K Melbourne fans at the game. I doubt that we'll have  as many fans as that at the game.
