Sorry lads, can't have two Polls and t'other one had a bunch of players missing.

Get into it.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

For me it was Moss. He kept us in the game in the first half. But it's hard to pick a standout and everyone did okay...

Great great effort. EFFORT being the key word.
Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

Just got back from the game, there would have been a good 50 Phoenix supporters there, great turn out.
I gave my vote to Moss thought both Lockhead and Smeltz came a close second.
Moss for three very improtant saves.
Man did Lochead put some great tackles in. Also played a real wing back role up and that flank all game.
Smeltz  caused the defence a bloody headache all game. Man he works hard off the ball.
Congratulations to all the players in this very important win.
And to Frankie and his mates that made the trip from Wellington, had a good night thanks.

Moss for me.

Brown, Lochhead, Smeltz & Daniel - all good tonight.

Lochhead kept his side of the defence generally less heart stopping than the other, and he's always capable of putting the odd Bekchamesque ball into the area. He's Mr Solid of the season so far, for me, and we have needed that.

Apparently Phoenix goalkeeper Jacob Spoonley, had a good game according to the A-League website!

I'm slightly disappointed!

i chose moss he did some great saves in the first half that kept us in the game, the rest of the team were solid and did well to hold onto their one goal lead.

yeah we could have been 2 down within 8 minutes with moss there. great stuff.

How did our defence go in the 2nd half? The beers took hold and I fell asleep at that point

Definitely Mossy.  Without him we wouldn't have had a game to win.  Commanding, confident and three outstanding saves.  There's no one better when it's one on one.

Much better all round effort from the team.  Dfence seemed to grow in confidence, or maybe Perth just ran out of ideas.  A good night's work.

Moss, Smeltz, Lia, and Brown all did fantastically well, but I gave my vote to Lochhead.

My heart almost stopped when they got the ball at their feet in our box, but Brown came through and nicked it off them.

I voted for Lochead, thought he had a great game, but I couldn't really argue with people voting for Mossy. Also thought Lia and Smeltz had good games.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Moss was great, Daniel had lapses of paralysis, but goal was class.

Botafogo - Rio de Janeiro and Wellington Phoenix, my two teams til death do us part.

Roll on the carrot tops and the zirconium bling.
A win and a draw against Queensland and Sydney will see us mid table again.
I still reckon we'll claw back to top four.

4 votes for Daniel   Fair enough if scoring the winner is enough to get you MOM, but personally I thought he did just about f**k all else last night. Very disappointed in his performance.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Karl Dodd, given the obvious impact he had on defence, deserves a bit of recognition as well.  Having said that I didn't vote for him - Maybe if there was a "MWMTBDCTAOTM" (man who made the big difference compared to Adelaide of the Match) he would do better.  Even then Mossy would get my vote!  Dodd added something though.

I know, I know, its serious!

Brownlie is the new George

Can't go past Moss' keeping last night - especially considering the performance from Pasty last week. The defence were shaky yet again last night, but moss was superb. He deserves all those votes! wellicane2007-11-03 14:02:48

was undecided between Moss, Brown, Smeltz and Daniel.
Dismissed Daniel, athough his goal determined the outcome of the match
Dismissed Brown, although he had a great game
Dismissed Smeltz, even though he did very well.
Couldn't have given my vote to anyone else but Mossy. Insuperable!

Tim Brown finally gets a chance and shows his worth. Long overdue i say. Brownlie didnt impress again. Give Paladini or Costa a chance off the bench cos brownlies not cutting it. Covs is still class just a bit old.

in the way ricki used both covs and royce last night they were well suited, as guys with real strength on the ball who can hold it up. costa and george would have been ill suited to that role last night. in saying that vaughn did a better job it than royce, really showed his experience last night

A well taken very ugly win, mossy for me as had it not been for him we could well have been down a couple after 25min.Dont think we should go to over the top as i think many of the other teams would have had us buried early, given the way our defence just opened up for them.

going for Timmo, covered lots of the park, always switched on - superb intercept and well weighted ball for Daniel, vocal leadership and leading by example, also great to see him be the first player to go over to the Phoenix fans at the end

also impressed by smeltz's work of the ball and his greater willingness this week to take players on

hopefully Smeltzy and Elrich will get on each other's wave lengths real soon

Mossy did well, but keepers do get paid to make saves (v Sydney he was outstanding and clear Mom - not convinced this time)

Doddy coming back helped

I voted for Smeltz, tireless up front, held the ball well - how good would this guy be with some decent support?  Lochhead, Johnson, and Moss were also very good.  Have to say though that our right hand side defence is a real worry.  I worry that JC gives the left sided attackers too much time on the ball (same last night as against CCM at the Stadium).  Also our attacking options are very much left-sided, given Lochhead's attacking skills.  This makes us reasonably easy to mark as our right-side attack is more limited.

Second half we looked pretty good defensively and I think the much maligned O'Dor did well until he was booted in the chops!  Every time Dodd went down my heart sank though.

Paul Henry must be gutted - probably call in sick on Monday.  Cock.

Go the Nix!

I agree on O'Dor, he did some quality things and you could see that if he keeps improving by this time next season he'll be one of the best in the league.
