I'm really keen to have Ian Smith do commentary for Nix games. Not
that I'll be able to watch because A: The only home game I'm in NZ
for, I'll be at tyhe ground and B: I'll be in UK with no coverage
after that!
But still, I think the general public should be able to hear
good commenatry should they channel surf past the WPFC coverage and
decide to listen in for a patch. I reckon Smith is right up
there, and he must know a thing or two about the game as Jarrod has
always palyed the game.
Who else likes the idea of prssuring Sky to give Ian a run? I
know he's not traditionally known for football commentary, but look
at the current TV presenters and tell me who you'd rather have. .

Who do I email? I'll be at most home games but if Im at the snow I

i think it's a great idea...basically, in a commentator i want
enthusiasm, personality, and a bit of articulation..and Ian Smith
has all that, even if he isn't a football expert. good
ex- players do not necessarily make good commentators, as
someone has previously pointed out

Great idea.
I know his son plays but Im sure I heard a while back Ian
Smith say that he also played football and in the end had to choose
between that and cricket (I could be wrong though),so he may well
know more about the game than we thnk..

Rumour has Smithy starting shortly on a breakfast radio show on Radio Pacific, so not sure whether his SKY work will continue, and can't see it increasing...
