I've  thought more about this, i would like the club to create a section within the match programme to allow Nicki to tell us about what is happening over that side. We have our section, why not let her have hers. I would be interested to learn more. And it makes for more reading.

Or you could, you know, just listen to the people who have told you exactly what she does or just watch an away game and see her in the away bay. Why does she owe anyone an explanation? Strange stuff.

Just read right through this and I have a burning question.

Where is Niki and why isn't she known on these forums? I mean I realise she's very busy by the sounds of it, but this is THE website for Phoenix fans, so what on earth???

SHOW YOURSELF NIKI AND BE SHOWERED WITH PRAISE

I'm in Perth! I don't come on or comment on the forums much as I mainly use FB and twitter. The last thing I am interested in is Praise :-)

To bad, praise is what you shall get.  Congratulations on your well deserved award, and thanks for all your hard work for our club!

Was lovely to meet you the other night, congratulations on the award and keep up the good work.

hmm no this is A place for Phoenix fans. Not THE place.

I didn't expect I'd be taken so literally on a common saying.

My apologies.

What I meant was:

This is the forum for Phoenix fans that has more web traffic than any other forum for Phoenix fans.

Therefore I was hoping one of our most dedicated fans might pop in and be showered with deserved praise!

Fair call!

Nonetheless, enjoy.

It is deserved.

over the years I have supported the Kingz, Knights and the Phoenix from Perth. I recall times when I would take my wife and young daughter to Perth Oval so there would at least be 3 people supporting the kiwi team.

As time went on a young lady by the name of Niki noticed me wearing a Nix top, she said she had just arrived from Queensland and was in the process of starting up a supporters club in W.A.

I have seen first hand the effort passion and total commitment this young lady has put in 24/7 to make this work.

Through Niki's efforts I have personally notice the support base go from 3 people to approximately 40 odd supporting the Phoenix when they play in Perth.

She has managed to convince a pub ( The Game Bar ) to show Phoenix game live, this is a major achievement in an AFL cricket mad State.

Niki has personally given tickets to supporters who can't afford to go to a game, she has so much passion for the Wellington Phoenix just like Yakcall, Hardnews, and all you other wonderful supporters in Wellington.

Unfortunately we are so,so far away from Kiwiland not many people out side of NZ will really appreciate just how much Niki has done for the Wellington Phoenix brand.

Niki I personally take my hat off to you for your commitment, passion and love of the Nix, without you the supporter base in Perth would just about be non existent.

Niki isn't the type of person that will come on to this forum and talk herself up, she just wants the Wellington Phoenix Supporters group to be successful.

Just maybe one day the podcast crew might want to do a little segment on what happens over here in W.A.

Congratulations Niki on your award you deserve it.

To all the other Nix supporters who put 100% into supporting this fantastic club thanks a million from one Nix supporter living in Perth.

A bit harsh, LG was only raising this because it would be interesting to some, not asking for an explanation. Lighten up man.....

Thank you for taking the time to make an appearance and congratulations on your award. Having read what others have said in the "most kindest" of ways, it has been quite enlightening and some of the users here hold your efforts up in very high regard.

That particular post, sure, but his previous ones in this thread came across as quite harsh to me.

Why? All I asked were questions. I didn't know that we were not meant to do so.

Time for a group hug... we're all on the same side and we all want the same thing - our club to be the best it can be. Each of us do our bit in our own way, to varying degrees.

Congratulations Nicki on a well-deserved award and on what you do in the far west of the West Island. Congratulations to every other fan does their bit, big or small, here or their, YF or not, to support our club and play a part in making it better, stronger, and more successful.

COYN!

I questioned who you were Niki.

It really is good to know about you and your amazing efforts overseas.

Well done on your award (clap emoticon)

I want to know the exact criteria for Nathan Burns to have won his award. I think he should have to write a column every week in the match day programme explaining what he's done to help the nix.

Allegedly

Quite right Tegal, and the winner should get a lanyard, a fridge magnet, and a key ring. Nice troll though, changed targets have we?

Thank you and fair enough. I don't do it for praise I do it for my passion of the NIX to get more people to support and to bring us all together for games here and Brisbane (Bris with the help of Ryan Bainbridge). I would have answered more in the last few days but I have been working since we arrived home from Welly (late Weds night)! And today is game day - Yeah bring it on.
