Hi guys

I am trying to find a contact number for somebody from the phoenix coaching staff as none of the numbers on the website or from directory enquirys work! I have tried e-mailing but have not received any replies to my questions or request.

Basically I am trying to make contact with the coaching staff about my son who is currently on a USA soccer scholarship with a final year to go starting next August.

Since my son was awarded his scholarship things have changed slightly and we as a family have moved to Napier and have full residency status. With this major change my son is possibly looking at moving down to New Zealand and also looking for somewhere to do his internship.

We would be interested to see if the club would be interested in letting my son train or at least talk with the club whilst he is here at Christmas. My son is a 6ft 2 centre half, he played FA schools representative football from the age of 12 18 and had England school boy trials and played a few semi pro games at 17 before going to America. He is now 20 years of age plays for a university in Atlanta and plays for a New Adult Soccer franchise in the Tennessee in the USA Summer.

I hope somebody can help as I have never known it so hard to make contact with a club

Thanks Skybluestu,

I now work in wellington and I hope to go and watch the Phoenix when I can

Usually Newtown 2 at 10:30 in the morning, although usually they have Wednesday morning off.

Can also change for a swim training or other ground at short notice, but usually Newtown 2.

How's my driving? - Whine here

Stu flick me an email at guy@1980.net.nz and I might be able to help.  Would be useful to know a bit more - like your son's name and which school he plays for...

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

If that doesn't work out; contact Hawke's Bay United who are playing and training at that time.

Anthony Floyd [General Manager] can be contacted through their website.

What does an "Adult Soccer franchise" entail?

"Phoenix till they lose"

Personal view based on where he's playing - Phoenix is out of his league.

I hope he's a hidden gem, but plenty of kiwi kids come out of much higher ranked Colleges and end up playing NZFC and no higher..

Can't blame him/his dad for giving it a crack though.  Plenty of Kiwi lads don't.
