The Wellington Phoenix season starts a week early this year!

The Annual Wellington Phoenix Family Day takes place at Wellington’s Waitangi Park on Sunday 5 October from 11am.

Come along and have a kick around with the 2014/2015 squad, learn some skills with Capital Football, pick up your 2014/15 membership pack and enjoy plenty more fun and games.

Don’t miss out. Entry is free!

This is the day after my birthday. So if you see me vomitting in a bush, just leave your presents at my feet.

Behind you I assume, don't want you to throw up over one when placing them at your feet.

Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

The Ruf, The Ruf, The Ruf is on Fire!!

I'm assuming they will be wrapped. So the present itself should be sweet.

Cool. I will have my kids with me and it's about time I had the "don't fuck up your life with drink and drugs or you'll end up like this loser" conversation with them.

This is actually incorrect. Vomit will leach through wrapping paper quite easily. I know this because of a very unfortunate incident at my mother-in-law's birthday party.

I never thought I'd say this...

I was referring to the person placing the present, not the present itself!

Was a good day out. Met a few players and signed up for a season ticket for the first time. Caught one of the Huawei balls they threw out from the stage too (not with a phone) and gave it to the kid in front of me.

Always makes for a good sunday. Not sure what it says about the extent of the Saturday night though...

It warms my heart to hear such great experiences had by so many today (including Dale going vom free for the day). It is fantastic the number of people who are talking, both here and in the season membership thread, about how they have become season tciket/membership holders for the first time ever.

It's really exciting. Something special is happening, and we are a part of it.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Phoenix fans. We have to win them over one fan at a time.

Yeah should be a good season. When we spoke to Fenton yesterday he laughed and said "it couldn't be any worse than last season!" I've wanted to get a season ticket before but have had a regular thing on Sunday nights the last few seasons so haven't been able to make the Sunday 5pm games. Now Sunday nights are free again so it's worth it this season. Worked out there may be some games when we're likely to be away, but we'll go to enough to make it worthwhile. May not go up for the Auckland game but my brother lives up there so will probably give him our tickets so someone will at least go in our place.

Definitely make the effort to go to the Auckland game if you can. Away trips like that are great fun. A really good way to spend time with fellow fans before and after the game, and get to know people more than you might on a regular home game day.

Wait have I missed that, the 12 pubs are going to be in Auckland this year!! AWESOME!

I haven't actually done the 12 pubs before, so keen to do it away this year as I'm on "Holiday"! No responsibilties!

I'm an optimistic pessimist.
I'm positive things will go wrong.
