Yep, I prefer it when the Lions wear their alternative gold shirt on very rare occassions.
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

We couldnt get yellow they tried but other teams had taken many of the colours. Originally Phoenix actually tried to get yellowe stripes through the strip i was talking to the designer yesterday and he said they werent even allowed to do that. So ant there fault. However $130 for that jeeezuz mate wat is this. That a hell of alot for us younger dudes (even if u have a job). Bit too much of my liking and looks like quite a few others on here feel the same way. Surely u dnt expect to sell many at that price ay. Not giving ur business sh*t ryos so dont give me a 600 word essay but im jst saying surely maby around 80 90? Do u guyes have kwl jerseys not the actual strip. Just yellow one. With black phoenix symbol. Might have to just make my own.

At the party last night one of the marketing guys from the Phoenix had no idea that they were on sale yet. And the players where wearing polo shirt versions that looked identical. they might be better for the more budget inclined people. Also you might want to pick up one of the shirts that the Backbencher and Yellow-fever are doing. Near same colour scheme and although they arnt free all yellow fever members have to do is buy 20 drinks and its yours. (limited edition of 50)UberGunner2007-08-19 20:22:25

All Black and Super 14 replica jerseys are around $150

A-league set the price. If ryos wanted to lose money they could sell em cheaper, but im pretty sure thats not what they are in busines for. It will be interesting to see  this thread when people realise the Phoenix store will sell them for the same price if not more.

I would have preferred our jerseys to be gold or gold & black stripes like the club logo. Black reminds me of every other NEW ZEALAND team including the kings, the knights, the warriors!. This is a Wellington team. Black predominantly looks crap. I am very disappointed. $130 is rich too!$60.00 for a black top would be fairer.

I think everyone would prefer them to be black and yellow stripes - but we tried for it and we weren't allowed it so there is no point in complaining. (until Reebok f**ks off that is)

I don't know why people expect the prices to be any lower than they are, $117 is a damn good price, as liverpoolfan pointed out all blacks and super 14 jerseys are $150 -  infact every replica jersey is expensive doesn't matter what the team is, you'll pay bloody $150 for a Waiarapa Bush jersey!

Great point Rocky! Very good price indeed! $50-$60 I think is a bit unrealistic , although I would love it, if the prices were that low!

Some people will complain about anything.

How many football shirts have you purchased that cost less than $117?!

Great price imo. Good work RYOS.

Authentic tops? not many if any, but i too think 117 is a bloody good price and think RYOS are tops for offering the discount on that, im sure the phoenix store will have a bit of everything to suit any budget, like someone else posted they'll have polo's and t shirts im sure so us poor people can look the part at games

If you cannot afford the phoenix top, but still want to wear your colours, get yourself to Champs and get a retro ricki top. Frankie Mac2007-08-20 12:10:26

Not just a retro-ricki either lads.

Champs have a couple of options in Black t-shirts and polo's with yellow Fever on them as well.

look great on the picture..one quick question, will champs or ryos do delivery of the other kinds of shirt other than the home kit? or is it ryos that does delivery

Jesus, I just want to say thank-you for the discount. I'm buying one anyway. As for the color, we are lucky in Wellington / Phoenixville that we CAN have black. Maybe the color will give the lads an extra stretch of the legs when it comes to scoring. Keeping back the yellow now just means it will come later. As for sl*gging Reebok, have you heard how Phoenix sponsorship is coming? If you DO work for a company of 800 or whatever than you are looking a golden opportunity in the face.

Once a major sponsor is found is it safe to assume that new jerseys will be emblazoned alll over? If so, getting in early might be just the ticket?
Permalink Permalink
over 18 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
Maybe there's more white in the shirts than the earlier designs 'cos somebody, somewhere has been listening and put a bit more white in to lessen the 'All Black' look?

$117 for a fitba' shirt is a bargain, a new Warriors shirt will set you back $160. I'll be getting mine when I'm down for the Newcastle game.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Hope the shirts  have a high level of formaldehyde in them ,were sure to look drop dead in them!!

To encourage a friend to make the games I've brought him a retro ricki for his b-day. Sly tactic that might work for others too. Now I hear that the Phoenix tops will have no sponsor emblazoned for maybe the only time in the club's history, and all that black, they sure do look more tempting. First come first served eh?

Seagull are you a football supporter?
All the other merchandise in that shop is rugby, nothing brilliant about that!
Good on Ryos for supporting the nix and $117 is an awsome price for a replica shirt but
I think we should be leaving this for the phoenix shop if we truely want to support terry and the boys!

Jerseys look awesome look much nicer in reality than they did on paper. Great to be one of the first to get my dirty paws on one. I'm sure if nz had a few more top flight soccer teams RYOS would gladly stock them aswell.
