I might get a silver fern or NZ outline (I'm English but been here since I was 2 so it is a pretty big deal for me). Other option is my sons name and DoB. Prob never get a club logo as much as I'd love too, I just cant handle the pain or what it would look like when I get old.

Its no longer a problem.

I have a few mates overseas who have silver ferns... they seem to all think it makes them feel closer to home and they are proud of being kiwis and its their way of showing support. I think people do underestimate how painful getting inked is... I took over ten yrs to get my latest one but it wasn't as bad as I remembered

Getting the outline of NZ/'Made in NZ'/Silver Fern etc. is pretty cliche and is up there with tribal tattoos and japanese symbols imo. Just like Aussies getting the southern cross.

How many people have a Kingz/Knights tattoo?

i am in my mid forties with tattoos at least 20 years old covering most of my body and legs, they are still very clear and easily definable and do not look tacky at all.the only tacky tattoos are the mass produced flash pictures which you should never get.be original make up your own design or talk to your artist about what you want and they can usually help you design them

For those who have never had it done, imagine the planned area of your body put under a sowing machine.
I had a female acquaintance who got some art done, but it backfired horribly, she originally got a little blue dolphin on her hip area, now it resemble a blue whale. Child birth plus Tatts = ewww

my hips are bigger than whn i got my first two done but its a abstract blk design and tho a bit faded still looks fine. My more recent colour one is crisp and hey its good incentive to never get bigger. Whn I first got inked it was quite rare for females and every day I now thank the fates I never got a tramp stamp or a bloody lizard as ever girl and her dog seems to have them. at least mine are unique and handpicked

As to the other, well pain is different for everyone. As an ex-boxer I can take face or rib hits, then I've also been pierced loads and don't evn blink at that but tattoos are more painful than those - but the very worse has got to be getting waxed - aye currumba

tattooists and piercers are like a girl's hairdressor. once you've got a good one you'd never consider going anywhere else and lol might even visit them in other cities

my pick is Kev at Tattoo City
