Big ups for those who do so outside of Wellington. From what I've seen from some of our Cantab compatriots, they put up with a lot of crap.

[QUOTE=RedGed] Bumping this topic with an update. The posters work!!I put up posters for last weeks Perth game at work and in my own office, and in my car.Conversations from those posters led to people saying they would come...Despite the crap weather,4 people came with us, they all enjoyed it they said they would come back again and one of them just bought a season ticket, he enjoyed it so much! Its only one ticket, but if we all put up posters and talked to people, who knows what could happen...

After putting up the posters for the Nix v Adelaide game, a couple of workmates said that they really enjoyed watching the Perth game (on sky) and are keen to come along to the ring of fire for the next home match. Result!

Will stick Adelaide ones up around school tomorrow. Here's hoping for a bigger crowd on the 4th.

You know we belong together...

I doubt he will care.

Rubbish.  I'll bet you any money the same things exist on the other clubs banners and psters.

Oh, then explain how SONY is spelled YNOS. The shirt is not inside out or back to front it is an obvious mirror image. There is no real reason to mirror it. And a professional can spot that work easily. Someone is purposefully making a office joke. Seen it all the time in the industry.

It is possible the person(s) is taking the p*** at everyone else as well, but that is no mistake, believe me.

Maybe if we were top of the league and hadn't just played like a pile of crap it might be something we could fret about.  This is the least of our problems.

Of course is it is the least of our problems. Just saying the obvious tbh.

I mean just hiring actors and then have change to different tops and have them appear in the poster five different positions, pay them is just a tad lazy when they could just turn up to a game and photograph the real fans with extra props and merge the lot is much more authentic and actually quicker.

Staged, unprofessional, costly and lazy.

Done by a failed computer technician trainee probably. . . .

So, seeing how the game is this Friday, is anyone at all keen to do this?

Are there going to be any club/team posters with fixtures put out through the Dom Post this season? I still have mine up from last season with a few X over ex players + with all the results of last season.

I haven't popped into the club shop yet, but could be something to pick up free from the club shop or free with a purchase?

So much for bringing back the dawn chorus.

By the size of this (I shudder to think what it was eating), we'll score at least 5 over Adelaide!

I have taken the practical route.  Put the posters up and physically signed on 10 people at work to meet before the match for a meal and then go to the game.

The posters work well.  No one looks at them closely.  If they do, that means EXTRA attention.   Now all we need is a great night and we'll have a few more hooked.

C'mon Phoenix do us proud.

I like that Idea. I've been thinking of doing something the same except meeting up for some indoor and then heading to the games, but I like the idea of a meal. Might  try it next home game

If you are planning on dining at the Backbencher before the game, i suggest you book. odds of getting a table for a large group after 5pm on a Friday = 0%.

It was the Thistle and the staff were great; they coped really well considering the crush in the bar areas.  Their Dining Room is perfect for this sort of thing.  We ended up with 15 people.  8 hadn't been to the Phoenix before.  Friday night home games are ideal for getting workmates to the game.  Let's hope they were suitably impressed with Ifill and Co to go again.

"Biggest night of the week" is the A-League theme isn't it? Seems to be on other club posters also.

Also, Melbourne Victory sight has a nice animated advert for their games on their home page. Nothing like that on the Phoenix site?

Can we get one of those we can post on websites? :)

Finally noticed the new version posters for this week with Robbie Fowler featured... thanks to Scoop's comment on the YF v NQ F thread.
If you, like me, didn't see see them but saw the previous version.. this is a step up.

See the huge Advertisement for the Test match in Welly in the Dom post. Must have cost them an arm and a leg, but it will be effective.

Not really feasible for the Nix, but always interesting to check out what the competition is doing, to encourage people.

the Nix shouldnt even try and compete with the AB marketing/sposonrship machine, it is huge and probably makes up the largest part of the NZRFU.
I think the Nix have got it spot on this year and the crowd numbers whilst not huge havent gone backwards as much as a lot of the other a-league clubs have.
