Today i noticed the bus shelter posters were up. They looked very good and the new strip makes them instantly identifiable.
In the previous two seasons smaller posters were put up in nix friendly venues but this is obviously a difficult and expensive exercise with only 1 week turnarounds between some home games.

My idea is for Tony P to get the Nix marketing guys to post a copy of each match poster (in a4 size) here on the YF website for us to be able to print out and post up at work/school/wherever and get us to help promote the match's.

Even if no one else is interested i still would like the link so i can put up a half dozen around and outside my work.

If anyone else has any ideas other than twisting your mates arms to get them along to games then post them here.

GOOD idea.  Also on car windows (your own of course) so can be seen around town.  Neighbours pets, small children, etc etc Junior822009-08-04 17:12:22

Good idea but the problem then arises with people putting them in places where they arnt wanted or allowed.Which would then be a bad look for the Phoenix.

I'm assuming some common sense from the majority of the people who would be keen. I wouldn't suggest anyone staple it to granddads forehead.

Needs genuine water-proof bumper stickers.  There are plenty of 'It's spreading' ones still around but think how much more there would be with proper Stand Up ones.

Would definitely put some up round campus. But i could see why the Phoenix management would be reluctant to hand out the posters.

I'm suggesting a link that would allows us to print our own. if it was at our own (admittedly paltry) expense it would exclude the time wasters.

Good concept UberGunner. If Tony and Nix Marketing would allow us access to a print quality link each week it could be very effectively used.

The Jagmobile still has the one you gave me. Starting to look a bit tatty though, time for some new ones.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Presume the Jagmobile is actually a Jag?

There was mention in another thread about school kids getting free passes to the first home game.

How about junior football clubs getting some complementaries to hand to kids as a bonus 'player of the day' award or similar?  A few of the kids in my teams went to the nix games last season, but not all (well over half/two thirds).

Also - not as easily do-able as the print out the poster proposal, but small promo stuff (small flags, wrist bands etc) would be good for junior football players.

I recommend getting an official Wellington Phoenix FC page on Facebook, like what the Wellington Lions have.

You can post official news, squad updates, etc all within the Facebook page, link it to other sites eg wellingtonphoenix.com or YF or 442 etc

Easy and cheap way to build up a fan base these days is to start a fan page on a social networking site.
Twitter is an option, but I don't know how many Phoenix supporters are that geeky :)

Yeah, and it's cheap and easy to do. You don't need to promote it much, as soon as friends join it shows up to their friends etc, and you get a number of people to join up.

Wellington Lions have done a good job with their Facebook updates, I think the Phoenix would be silly not to do the same.
