Press scum keep trying to provoke the top table into dissing Terry. Lyall Gorman continually refuses and keeps saying how well Terry had done.

One thing is for certain: there is no stopping them; the phoenix six will soon be here. And I for one welcome our new football overlords.
I second that
Sorry for Terry, and will be pleased to honour him when his tribute page comes up, but pleased to have this drawn out affair over and the certainty for this season and hopefully many more
GO YOU MIGHTY NIX
Bittersweet.
As for predictions.....rewind a few pages. I foretold;
1) Terry will lose the Club,
2) We will have our best ever season,
3) My family will still be going to the RoF in ten years.
Prediction 1), fulfilled. I look really forward to Prediction 2) and then 3).
I'm really sorry Terry has fallen so far.
BUT.....Come On!!
Always look on the bright side of life (singalong Doloras) dee dum, dee dum, dee dee dee dee dee dum...
This has got to be the best for the Club. No more uncertainty, wages paid, players signed etc etc.
No we go from strong to stronger.
Remember (I've said it before)..................
We are the Mighty Phoenix! We can beat anyone/thing!!

Nostalgia isnt what it used to be...........

Great news.
Ricki gets his $100k and a proper recruitment budget, and the players and staff have stability going forward.
Terry gets "Founding Patron", that's a nice touch isnt it.
Best news, the fans can now relax knowing the club is in sound financial and management hands.
Now back to the RWC...

We have gone from the most insecure club in the league to one of the most secure - exciting times ahead.
Terry goes of his own accord (yes I know he had little, if any, choice).
Terry given thoroughly due respect for his enormous and passionate contribution and ongoing recognition through the Founder status.
A five year commitment form new owners.
Confidence in and job security for management, coach and players.
A recognition of the Wellington roots and home base for the team and the role of supporters.
A vision for NZ football beyond just the Nix
All in all an extremely well handled transition and a great future ahead !!
He dribbles a lot and the opposition dont like it - you can see it all over their faces. (Ron Atkinson)

Thats a bit of a bad thing to say....Terry won't be pleased with that.
Tough.
The nix 6 months down the line with 3-4000 seat gates, and players unwilling to re-sign becomes a very different proposition to rescue.

we get it, you don't like Terry. You can stop now as he doesn't own the club anymore.
He relinquished the license to avoid being pushed, so to come out and say something like that wasn't the best thing to say. It was unnecessary. Am sure it was unintentional, but yeah its nothing to do with 3-4000 attendance down the line or anything to do with the nix going down under Terrys ownership - he relinquished control.
You can stop beating the "Terry is evil" drum now, its getting old.

Rob Morrison is thumping into reporters' heads that Welnix has not taken on any of Century City Football's liabilities, only the licence. So Terry still owes Ricki $100,000, I suppose.

Actually, i think he's a nice enough bloke, just was out of his depth, and dragging the club down with him.
Grateful for all he did, but he needed to go.
it's people trying to find fault with the new owners, because they're not Terry, who i can't comprehend

Yeah agreed with that. My stance was always that as far as I know, they didn't exist. As soon as they existed, I preferred them to Terry (currently) negatively affecting the club by not signing players and owing Ricki money.

This is what interests me. I understand it is a clean sheet, but where do any potential debts go? Still owed by CCF/Terry?
I may have missed it in the presser, my internet connection keeps cutting out.

I guess its quite nice to hear that:
wellington Phoenix will remain in wellington
All staff will be retained
traditionally this has rarely been the case in football club takeovers and that generally new brooms sweep clean. I'll be a very happy man if the changeover runs smooth and ...finally can just concentrate getting back to watching football

Morrison: "As far as we know there isn't any backpay owing... if there is, we'll cross that bridge when we come to it, in discussion with the FFA and the PFA".
