Anyone know where I can see the playing strip of the Phoenix?

this kits way diffrent the one on nzsoccer...but its also

Looks great, but it would have been refreshing to get away from the
all-black colour scheme for once. Yellow/black stripes would have
been great, but aparently they didn't fit into the Reebok template?
yer would have looked much better if it ws jst black and yellow
lines down(like ac milan u know) but last year melb. had to
push reebok even for that stupid V they had on the front of there
away kit. the BLACK just reminds me of the failures of the KINGZ
AND KNIGHTS!

I agree with nkcroatia, the colour black will always have connotations of failure in NZ soccer, why can't we just change colours?
I also hope that rule about the away team having to wear white is gone as well. Its pointless.

Oi um i was searchin about wellington phoenix in google and these
amazing similarities came up between a nazi eagle and phoenix crest
and a team called A.E.K and phoenix crest.....
I tried to load the photos but they wont work...search wellington phoenix in goolge images and you'll see.
Yer back to the reebok thing...like every team is given a "blank" shirt with a design and then they have to fit their teams colours into that. But i think reebok should have some diffrent designs and each team can choose which one they think is best.

if you go looking at some of the older threads theres been pages
and pages of people discussing the similarities with all sorts of
things.
According to someone on the Toronto FC supporters site, AEK and
Phoenix both use a Greek Byzantine eagle as their symbol.
Apparently some South Melbourne fans have put 2 + 2 together
and come up with AEK and Phoenix being sister-clubs (since
Serepisos is Greek).

Personally, if I hear anyone else call the Phoenix symbol an

preseaon strip, new strips havent come in yet dont think.

For f**ks sake. We've been over this like a million times. We can't get anything decent because of the Reebok template.
And the phoenix/eagle/whatever symbol has been used in a hell of a lot of things.

back to the topic!!....the kit looks loads better with the yellow
along the top. Makes it look like a kit that we can be proud of.
Will just take a few seasons before Reebok roll-over and allow us
to fully customise the kits. But I like the kit they wore against
the Mariners.
It's funny how the actual shirts are completely different in terms
of design to the original designs on the NZ soccer site.

I was hoping for yellow and black stripes or hoops even. Or yellow shirts with a ouple of black diagonal stripes or yellow and black halves. But we got the same template as all the other A-League clubs. Excuse my language but the Reebok template is bloody boring. Perhaps as fans we should start bombarding the FFA to put pressure on Reebok designers to get some imagination!!!!!!

Don't get carried away with the kit worn against CCM (and probably
the rest of preseason). I'm pretty sure it wont be that during the
season. It is probably just a kit put together for the
preseason tourny so we have numbers and names (did we have names?).
Come the game v's Melbourne (I am so looking forward to that
game) I recon we'll be in the one released earlier.

season kicking off though? And if so, who will be selling it (Rebel
Sport, Ryos, Stirling Sports, etc)?

at Champs (on Cuba), Ryos, Rebel certainly. Not sure on where
else.

Great call. Like someone said earlier, black stinks too much of the Kingz/Knights. We at least should have gone for yellow shirts with a bit of black, and black shorts. But all yellow, maybe with thin black stripes on the sides would have been awesome.

controlled by the FFA. The league already has a yellow team
so the chances of them having another one in only 8 sides was
pretty much 0%.
It would be different in a league running for decades, but this is a very strictly controlled franchise based competition and it was never going to happen.

Good call HN, people need to be aware of the restrictions that apply to a new league. Reebok have paid plenty of money to be the kit supplier. Possibly in the millions. They want to get their moneys worth.
As someone mentioned earlier, the best thing to do is to get some ideas prepared for when the shirt provider changes or is up for a design change.
Unlike other leagues where the clubs generate their own cash and are relatively independant, smaller leagues ruuning as franchises have less control.
Whatever the Phoenix are wearing they are still my team and i'll support the regardless.
