Weird. Last time the ASB Challenge occured we covered it on the ASB Premiership site but it seems like it's not being covered anymore which is disappointing.
Bet365 paid out on my bet for the Phoenix Reserves to win, so unless they're just making it up, there's that.
Sounds like another solid performance from Watson.
Was really impressed by what I saw of him in CHCH.
One for the future.
Went and watched the game last night
Waitakere put out a B team really most of their top players weren`t involved
Thought the Nix could have won by 4 or 5 if it wasn`t for some outstanding goal keeping. In my view Lindsay had a great game in the holding midfield maybe more dominant than Sanchez (almost played the full 90). Tottori average struggled to beat his man, Downey great pace as we all know, Boxall just bossed their forwards, Boyd definately see the potential. Others all ok without standing out. The interesting one was a Rufer played the last 10min (Shane`s son). Could be good for the academy next year.
Caleb has dropped off completely...so time for a new prodigy Rufer to step up.
I do remember seeing an interview of Wynton where he basically said that out of his boys, Caleb was no where near as talented, but wanted it, where as his youngest had everything, but didn't care.
And now, we hear nothing of either.
Time for Shanes side of the Rufers to step out of Wyntons shadow : )

I think I recall reading that Caleb is currently in the Sydney FC youth team.

Youngheart are playing the Phoenix this Wednesday at Memorial Park. The game will kick off at 5.30 pm, with normal ticket prices ($5 adult, $2 Children $10 family). Whilst essentially the Nix reserve side we understand they are looking to give Muscat a run and Ifill will also play if he passes a medical. Highly likely the likes of Totori / Boxall and new signing Hogg will play.

Id think a half for mossy?
could start a pretty "strong" side. Wouldnt even really be able to fit manny, downey, lindsay & smith all into 1 balance lineup unless smith played further forward
Moss
Downey Boxall Solomon Hogg
Musscat Lindsay
Smith
Ifill Watson Totori
Looks balanced to me........whether they are up for the occassion is another matter !!1
Full time: Youngheart Manuwatu 3 and Phoenix 1
No idea who the goal scorers were
Forking hell. We are honking
I went to the match. Phoenix scored in about the 2nd or 3rd minute from an Ifill cross. Not sure who the scorer was sorry. Manawatu equalised through Tom Mosquera who is currently the ASB top scorer. He later got subbed by Seurle Soromon. 1-1 at halftime. Ifill, Totori, Boxall, Smith and Moss all started. Ifill was subbed after about 30 minutes. Smith came off at halftime along with Moss.
Game was reasonably even. Phoenix may have slightly shaded it posession wise. Matt Borren in the Manawatu goal pulled off three stunning saves which should have been goals. Phoenix hit the crossbar in the first half and Manny had a long range screamer hit the post in the second half when the score was already 1-3. McMaster played the second half and probably couldn't do anything about the two goals he conceded. Manawatu didn't create as many chances but just took them better.
Ricki was in the grandstand just along from me but I couldn't see Greenie on the bench which was strange.
