THE phoenix must be one of the only professional football teams
that has no company sponsorship on its shirts. Ive only just
realised this, isnt it great, Ive got to save up and get one before
it is grafettied in this way. I know the club is missing out on
money, but isnt it great to have a shirt that is unadulterated in
this way! Long may it last I say.

Yeah i guess so. Looks a bit empty tho!
Dont think well get the strips with sponsers on them for the
public this year even if we do get a major sponser.

HEY THEY ALL USED TO BE THAT WAY HAVE A LOOK AT SOME 70S FOOTAGE OF
FOOTBALL. NOT EVEN MAN U HAD THAT COMPANY CRAP THEN

I agree Madhouse. I think shirt sponsorship looks sh*te. If a
company wants me to promote them they should pay ME!
BTW did you know Barcelona FC has NEVER had shirt sponsors? They have UNICEF on their shirts at the moment and that space is given for free.

I had a great Hibs strip from '91 when we won the league cup and
didn't have a sponsor - looked great, gave it away though :(
I noticed Quuensland and Newcastle as well don't have main shirt sponsors.

I heard a rumour that the phoenix ARE getting a sponsor, i heard
that the reason there is no nix mens tops to buy just now is
because they are getting new ones released late october/early
november with the new sponsors on them, hence the big delay in
getting new tops released.
You heard it here first!!

What is your source for the rumour?
2 sources, 1 from the club shop when i was in about 3 weeks ago as
i asked when they will get new tops in and someone in there blipped
it out by mistake as to the reason the tops are not getting
released till late october/early november, they said the away tops
would be released before the new home tops, they wanted to try and
do a double release as both tops will have a sponsor on them and
2.people i know in welly have told me as well.

SUX SO ITS TOO LATE TO BUY ONE WITHOUT A SPONSOR?
No its not to late. Try and visit the Phoenx store at the end of
thos month or Early November and there should be Home strips in.
Dont think those rumours are true as i was in the store the
other day and asked about that exact thing and got a no...so
yeah.

uncle steve i dont know whats true mate, but i think that makes
sense that they are delaying them to get sponsors on them,
otherwise the tops would be released well before then!! it doesnt
take 2 months to re-release more tops!! it would only take a max of
2 weeks!!

oh and the shops have ran out of mens tops, you can only get kids
home tops!

ANYONE WANA SELL THEIR NON SPONSOR SHIRT I LL PAY A 100 BUCKS THATS
ALMOST ENOUGH FOR YOU TO BUY A LOVELY NEW SPONSORED SHIRT.

The new shirts might only have the Interislender stuff on the
sleave, not main shirt sponorship.
i read in the paper a few weeks back that there will most likely be
a main shirt sponsor soon, there is a couple of negotiations i
think it was... and there was no concern for the phoenix
management, they're just trying to find the sponsor that will work
best with the club...
.. with terry there money isn;t really an issue

Barca actually pay UNICEF for that!!
"The five-year collaborative agreement with UNICEF was signed
by Barcelona president Joan Laporta at the United Nations
headquarters in New York.
Under a deal bearing the slogan "Barcelona, more than a club, a new
global hope for vulnerable children," the Catalan team will
annually contribute 1.5
million (US$1.9 million) to UNICEF humanitarian projects."

a company sponsor doesn't make a good shirt.

Having said that, I reckon they could have done a much better
job indesigning the Nix gear for this season...
