Thank you, thank you, I got it right. Shame he's not 10 years younger though, I like him as player & person. Very approachable and courteous.

Ave atque vale, Pasty. Good to hear he's still leaving the door open for the AWs, although it does mean that we'll have to hear the stupid "Pasty v Mossy" arguments until Brazil 2014.

So! Who for next year's second keeper? Basalaj? McMaster?

Probably Basalaj, but I wouldn't mind having a look at O'Keefe.

There's definitely a few NZ Keepers around capable. The way Moss is going with injuries whoever is backup will likely get a few games.

I do like Spoons, but Basalaj is U-21 which will really help.

Will Paston play for TW?

I would probably think only if the AWs qualify for Rio. Otherwise would he need to? Reading the paper write up, if spending more time with the family is one of the drivers, I'm not sure you would with a 40 hour job and then a game and a couple of trainings. I would have thought if he was interested in playing still, it would be at something like Capital league? Maybe spend a season out of goal having a run about in an O35 league (thats if the AWs don't qualify)
I'm just thinking what I would do if I was in a similar situation.

My thoughts, great that Paston has retired, we always go better when he isn't there, Leo. sorry you have been ok but go back to Olympic, Lochead, you should never have been there at all,   Dani ..see ya later,  and Paul..well you have been amazing...but..       now Mr Welnix  have you got a job in front of you!

Heard a weird rumour that Ricki Herbert told Brockie's agent that he needed to get rid of Brockie, Ifill and Durante - this would only add up if they all had the same agent.

The agent needed to get rid of them or that Ricki needed to get rid of them when he was the boss? Do they all have the same agent? I would have thought Ifill, coming out from England, would have had a different agent unless he changed.
That is extremely weird and I guess tread carefully. Whats the credibility of the sauce like?

Hope you are wrong. With the right coach and his mind on the job he could be pretty good for us.

Interesting. The Jets feel he is worth committing an import slot to? I think he does have value in the league and was one of the few Phoenix players this year that came out of it all not too badly compared to the performances of others and how Leo himself was the year prior when he was slated.

I do wonder if whomever is doing the negotiations for the Phoenix are banking on the fact that Kiwis are imports and thus, options in the A League are limited elsewhere (especially when you combine this years playing stock performances). It would not surprise me if they are low-balling based on that and trying not to negotiate against themselves. Its almost a case of whom is going to blink first if they play that game.
