Looked into it on the Queensland forum a couple of days ago. They said there isn't any and our best chance is to watch there forum for updates, cause people from the ground will be texting back to people who will post updates on forum.

Really? That will be our only way to keep tabs on what's going on with the game?

have you seen the ground this pre season match is playing at???

COME ON BE REALISTIC

not only is there no elevation for tv cameras at the ground there is no way any nz radio or tv stations are going to send reporters to the whoops of queensland to watch a phoenix pre season game.

get realistic.

being a N.S.W fan i personally think queensland is one big whoops

as for being realistic,  it was only a question   "will there be coverage this weekend ?"

Found the following site when I was looking for the scores in last Saturdays pre-season cup games.

Select Browse Fixtures 27.7. 08 and you can bring up the Nix game.

He dribbles a lot and the opposition dont like it - you can see it all over their faces. (Ron Atkinson)

RICKI HERBERT will continue to tinker with his squad when the Wellington Phoenix take on the Queensland Roar in a 2008 Pre-Season Cup match on the Sunshine Coast on Sunday.

One change has been forced on Herbert with the season-ending injury suffered by makeshift right back Vince Lia in last weekends 1-0 win against the Central Coast Mariners, but the Wellington coach confirmed his intentions regardless to give every member of his squad a run in the lead-up to the Phoenixs Hyundai A-League 2008/09 season opener against the Roar on August 17.

This weekends match is just another step, really, and were not going to change from what weve decided to do leading into August 17, Herbert said.

It was a good start for us at Westpac Stadium last weekend against the Mariners and Sundays match against the Roar is another opportunity to give some other players a run, look at a couple of other combinations and move our training schedule ahead another week.

Troy Hearfield was used at right back when Lia was forced off shortly after halftime against the Mariners. Lia has since been ruled out for the season with ligament damage in his left knee.

Herbert said he planned to push Hearfield up into his accustomed midfield role against the Roar, alongside Brazilian playmaker Daniel and Kiwi flyer Leo Bertos. That suggests Ben Sigmund will have a big part to play in the Phoenixs back four at Stockland Park on the Sunshine Coast on Sunday.

Troys a decent shot to start this weekend, maybe in the three behind the striker, with Ben Sigmund perhaps dropping in at right back.

The loss of Lia for the season has been offset by the signing of New Zealand international and former English Championship defender David Mulligan.

The club carries on. Its unfortunate for Vinnie from a personal point of view and we had high hopes for him at right back this season. But weve got some options there to look at and thats the focus as the moment.

Mark Paston is also in line for an opportunity to press incumbent first-choice goalkeeper Glen Moss for the starting stoppers job when the competition proper gets under way for the Phoenix on August 17 at Westpac Stadium in Wellington. Striker Adam Kwasnik is also likely to get a run off the bench on Sunday.

Along the stretch its important we give as many members of the squad as possible the chance to play, Herbert said.

Weve got 21 players in the squad and weve got three competitive [2008 Pre-Season Cup] games to integrate them and given them the right amount of time on the pitch.

So, yes, therell be some different personnel used. Troys had a little bit of time already, Adams a key signing for us, Vaughan Coveny needs a little more time on the pitch and Mark needs time between the sticks.

Jeremy Christie is back from suspension, Tim Browns almost spot on now [after injury], then theres Greg Draper and Costa Barbarouses the list goes on.  Its not easy to put everyone in but we certainly need to give it consideration.

The Phoenix lead Group B in the 2008 Pre-Season Cup standings alongside Sydney FC, who beat the Roar 2-1 last weekend.

given that Leilei seemd to cramp up in the second half, i might have expected he'd be given some more time on the park to build his match fitness, unless he took a knock

as suggested by Ricki, it must be a bit of a nightmare trying to balnace the time on the pitch for all those midfielders

so what's the predicted starting line up?
Permalink Permalink

Id say :

-------------Paston--------------
Siggy-----McKain--Durante--Lochhead
-------------Dodd (sub for Johnson 2nd half)----------------------
--------------Ferrante------------------
Bertos------Hearfield(sub for Kwasnik 2nd half)---------Daniel---
---------------Smeltz------------------------

Wouldn't be surprised if Hearfield stays on but moves back to RB for Siggy in the 2nd half some time when Kwasnick comes on.

I think it's only logical to give as many players as possible a run, and an opportunity to stake a claim for a starting 11 place, before the season proper. You also want to try, and test out, combinations. Having said that I think you would want to start with close to your 1st 11 for the last pre-season game so that players can get up to "race pace" and combinations can settle in. Aside from wanting to make the pre-season final for the obvious reason of the Nix having a shot at their first piece of silverware I think the extra game would be invaluable in terms of establishing and bedding in the starting 11.

Go the Nix - silence the Roar !!!!

Information from nixinoz has the Roar at $1.90 for the win, $3.35 for the draw, $ 3.75 for the mighty Nix to win.
It appears to be a small ground with the stand seating 20 people, they are looking at approximately 4000 to 5000 at the game with the first in best dressed for a spot.
will keep you up to date as information comes through from nixinoz.
