When was the last time Daniel played a first-time pass?

I thought he had one or two nice touches to release Super Leo a couple of games ago, maybe Newcastle?

hes done alright. hes certainly not the player he has used to be but hes better than kwasnik.
I say give him a go , wether he comes off the bench or not... he should atleast play.

I think the lay off to Hearfield in the box in the last game that gave Hearfield an open look was a nice one touch, but I could be wrong.

With Durante out and Siggy and Kwasnik doubtful, it means Daniel would possibly start anyway as McKain would move to the back.
I'm with whoever it was that wanted to see more of Plodder. He's gone hard out with his minimal chances.
Johnson might get his last look at our bench

Daniel Bertos Smeltz up front
Plodder Brown McKain in the midfield
Lochhead and Sex Panther and last men standing in our injury laden backline...

what the heck right?

I think we are better to go with a generally attacking midfield for this one

we will certainly have attacking midfielders on...cos they dont defend to well...I hope they dont sit too far back

Maybe we'll get to see Daniel receive the ball while making a run?

If we start slow against Adelaide we are in real trouble. Be real interested to see the odds for the game....probably Adelaide $1.80 Phoenix $3.75.

Daniel to do a predictable back heel $1.05

I just want to see 100%  commitment and lots of attack from the Nix! We can do this.

That was last season...Also what we attempted in the second half of the last game against Adelaide.

if we just call him Jeremy does that make him a brazillian and replacement for Fred?

Daniel to show a bit of inate skill to set himself or someone else in on goal $1.86 or $2.10 depending where you go.

Siggy injury free moves McKain back into midfield.
Daniel to wave both arms in the air toward the fever zone in the first 15 minutes $1.10

because - el grap and News - he's is one of the few players in our side who can trouble defences with a well-placed first-time pass

Costa on the bench - against tired players he will force errors (in the same way that we have recently discovered hearfield can - hopefully costa will manage his 'aggression' better)

Based on??? Pure speculation. You could say the same thing about putting Paston on in the outfield.
We no real proof, thats very speculative

based on the fact that he has shown a willingness to run at players and that when he does so the ball stays within the general vicinity of his feet

(paston might force confusion or derision)

This is a huge game so I have been doing a lot of thinking, trying to figure out what the problem has been this season. What is the one thing we could change that might really make a difference against Adelaide?

After crunching all the data through my super-computer and doing an extensive analysis of the results I have concluded that the problem is we haven't played Phoenix City nearly enough f**king times before and during the f**king games this season.

Dario f**king G gets more air-time than Phoenix City. What the f**k is that about? It's no wonder the players are always wandering around like they couldn't give a f**k.

More Phoenix City. This Sunday. F**k yeah!

You should be a Coach, GA!

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

if Ricki thought Costa was up to it he would have had more appearances by now. if we can't qualify even by winning the melbourne game then the youngsters may get a run, bit like last year.

the only game this season I did'nt get to see was the last away game in Perth...where i think Costa got a fair bit of game time. How did he go? i remember that was the game we were going to attack them hard and ended up losing...

It is a big ask playing a youngster, who has had about 3 minutes of game time all season, in a crucial must win game against the league leaders.

It does show how disadvantaged the Phoenix are not having a team in the youth comp. There are a lot of youngsters coming up into the seniors now....look at our last couple of away games...beaten by goals scored by schoolboys in the last minutes of each game.

I hope Covs gets on for the last minute of injury time.

So are they only ever gonna get a go in the last game of each season then? We are only talking about a bench spot anyway.

How are youngsters going to improve playing about 2 proper games a season? When I was that age I played 3 or 4 games a week at least.

so you would prefer Costa got coached by Si George than Ricki?

Talking about playing not coaching.

I believe in coaching, but this isnt chess.

Its how well you kick a ball.

Formations, coaching, selections, blah, blah, blah

Just play Phoenix City before the game and we'll be sweet.

Everything else is just details.

                        Moss
Muscat    Sigmund     Durante     Lochhead
Costa      Mulligan      McKain      Daniel
               Smeltz      Draper

Bench:
Paston
Johnson
Coveny
Christie

Would be keen to see how that squad would go (aware that it isn't the strongest).

he's the club novice. He has to do his time. Or he can find a club where he would get game time ie an amateur team like Olympic. I think you'd agree that  he is better staying put..

really the only thinkg wrong with that line up is McKain hasn't been replaced by Johnson, and Smeltz hasn't been replaced by Brownlie...

I do not know if I am alone in this assessment but I do not feel, especially after last week, that Tony Lochhead has warranted a starting place on his current form and contributions. Granted, he is our best left back but another inept performance like last week from him this Sunday will really frustrate me. He just has not been the same player at all since he returned from his trial in Middlesbrough. Perhaps Muscat to left fullback and Plodder to the right fullback position? I do not see it happening at all but am really disappointed at how Tony has gone from last season's best left back in the league to his current performances.DKP222009-01-16 00:25:06

Big  game for McKain, and Durante if he is fit with national coach Pim Verbeek coming to watch us and Adelaide. He is due to  name a squad of A-League-based Socceroos on Monday for the Asian Cup qualifier in Jakarta, would be great if one of them could be in it
