Actually, Smeltz, Bertos and Costa combined the attacking play straight out of the West Ham Youth Academy Program. Thank you, Tony Carr, director of the WHU Youth Academy. (Never thought I would be thanking him again).

Dare I say it - A half of two quarters? Adelaide seemed to be strolling through our defence at will, especially just after the first goal. I was thinking we'd be lucky to only lose 6-1. However the Phoenix have got back into it, scored a good goal, and really dominated since.
Daniel, Smeltz and Leo have combined well on attack, Manny and Lochhead have got in to good attacking positions out wide, though Lochhead still seems out of sorts. Costa's confidence has grown since the goal and is getting more involved.
Defence is more of the same - generally solid, but enough uncertainty there to drive your average YF member to drink.

Yep ref is a cock, Dodd tackled Daniel from behind and did stuff all.
Looking better when Bertos, Daniel and Lockhead combine down the left flank.
Though Lockhead is giving the ball away too much.
Good to see Phoenix pressing high up and not sitting to deep.

Costa is getting muscled off the ball very easily, but his off-the-ball running is excellent and he has got himself into dangerous positions. Annoying to see a lack of communication on our part: players getting in each others way, passes not being read. Daniel threaded through two lovely balls but we didn't read them at all.
Would've been orgasmic if Sigmund had scored from that shot.

Isn't this ref very young? Like, in his 20's? I actually think he's quite good but just inclined to overreact in the heat of the moment. Maybe with experience he'll settle down.
