I think the low crowd is down to the time of the game and maybe a lot of families took the option of letting the kids stay up saturday night for olympic watching instead of coming to nix on sunday

Poor performance but on the bright side we have seen them play much better in the pre-season cup. Must have been a few nerves out there.

its a good sign (i spose) that now when the nix play bad they draw rather than getting dicked

A worry was that we were at our worst in the last 20 minutes. 1st half was a non-event for both sides, then we played OK after getting the goal, only to come apart at the seems late on.  Opposite of PSC form.

BTW after seeing the replay I reckon the goal was one of our best, perfectly weighted pass from Daniel, 1st time finish from Smeltz, good running by a couple of others off the ball.  A gem.

To be fair the football was pretty uninspiring. Feverzone wasnt all bad considering

If we want the fever zone to grow then being off to the side and drawing others there may well be the way to go. another option would be to set up at the other end of stadium, this would allow for some banter between opposing ends of the stadium.

We dont have enough numbers for that. We'd end up like Adelaide, with lots of little groups each with their own agendas, adding litttle to overall atmosphere

That's them.

I think they are just too thick to realise that they everyone else just feels embarrassed for them.

All this because one person suggested they were being twats in the zone last season.  I'd hate to see what they do if someone actually offends them.

How's my driving? - Whine here

They shut up once that guy got ejected, obviously the rest didn't have the balls to do anything. They were pissed as anything anyway.

Well said el grapadura.  1-1 fine if we'd played well, but agree that was our least attractive performance to date.

On the Sunday issue, wouldn't it be better if the games were earlier.  5pm means its cold and you get home fairly late.  Much better to play in the afternoon sun (OK, in short supply recently).  2.30pm  ideal.

Late? I got home at 7.30, I still managed to stay up for a few more hours

I was thinking about our performance last night and came to the conclusion that if we can get a draw whilst playing badly then when we play well we should be on fire.

Haha nice vid and a brilliant run from Smeltz, completely losing his marker(s?). I think I'm going to stick my neck out and say I think this is the best goal ever scored at the RoF.

Would love the one of Brockie nutting the Brazillian full back, (not sure if it is the one where the full back gets beaten but still turns gets the ball back).

Interesting thoughts about the games being earlier.  I see we have a game at 6pm on a sunday.  Is this going to diminish th crowds more. As pointed out, Sunday games may lack numbers but they should not lack atmosphere.  We try our best to get things going from the top of 24 and also follow what the FZ are doing.  With regards of people getting home late, we travel from masterton every home game.  We leave at about 2pm and get back at about 10pm.  Long day but well worth it.

i know the feeling we leave wanganui about 11-00  11-30 and usually get home about the same time 12 hours later but feel it is worth it most games.

I expect it,
But this weather is a good way of weeding out all the fake nix supporters.
And hopefully the fever zone wont be full of people who dont know what they are doing.
