Any chance of renaming Daniel 'Christiano Daniel Ronaldo'?
And can George from now on be referred to as 'Thumbs-up
Paladini'? Cracks me up, warming up, every time gives a
massive smile and two thumbs up. Daniel MOM, lethal with
Lochead.

Coveny don't know why so many people have voted for Daniel.
yea i voted Covs, daniel had a screamer 2

while both daniel and covs had great games i thought richard
johnson had an absolute stunner. the way he played gave daniel more
time on the ball, he was magic today. ricky has an embrassament of
riches

Daniel for me (again!) - just watched the highlights on Sky which
confirmed my memory that he was involved in all the key bits right
throughout the game. But really everyone was a star today (except
maybe Ferrante with his missing a barn door from 3 paces routine,
albeit from an angle, again!). What a day - Nix heaven!

The scoreline didn't lie - by far the best performance of the
season by the best footballing side in the league, and Daniel was
at the heart of it all. Heavilly involved in three of the
goals, involved in the build up to the other, non-stop running, the
best distribution he's put together this season. He'll be a
huge miss next week. Plenty of options, but I suspect it'll
be more of a 'Christmas Tree' and no wide men - I'd imagine Smeltz
up front, supported by Felipe and Elrich (but I'll still hope for
George to get a start in Daniel's place).
Coveny, I haven't been impressed with him previously this
season, but he was excellent today as well - his link up with
Smeltz went a long way toward proving that the Nix really should
play with 2 up front, there's nothing to fear.

Coveny for me. Great to see him show us that he still has plenty to
offer. Daniel just a superb, we are not short on options to replace
him next week, hopefully Ahmad Elrich in for him tho. I love the
way the team appreciate the crowd, but u cant blame them
because...WELLINGTON IS WONDERFUL.

Voted Daniel ,especially now that he seems to
prefer being vertical for most of the game!
The answer to life's problems are rarely found at the bottom of a beer glass - but it's always worth a look.

For someone who hasn't had a big impact until now I thought Coveny
had a blinder!

Daniel followed by Coveney for effort and header flickons..although
he could have celebrated with the fans as well as his
family
.....there
were a lot of opportunities that went begging in the second half
when play opened up with 11 v 10. The left side dominated but
there was space on the right if a quick switch had been done.

Might have been a different story but for the sending off
as PG looked slick...their goal was very well crafted.
A small town in Europe........looking to bounce straight back up....well that aint going to happen

Obviously the team as a whole played really well. Built the
play well and the game was played on our terms for long
periods. As for MOTM I voted for Daniel. He was great
today. Had a hand in all the goals I think.

Definately Daniel, had a great game.

DANIEL! cut them up so much down the wing they almost needed an ambulance

I like tautologies because I like them.

so gutted i couldnt make it to be there for the first home win.
watched it on tv tho, one of my female flatmates kept looking at me
weird when i would jump off the couch and start chanting at the top
of my voice. amazing game! coveny got my vote.

Lochead for me.
His goal was really well taken, he set one up with a hell of a
cross and was inolved in most of our good plays. He practically
plays as a winger half the time and he seems to read Daniel really
well which is important considering how much they link up.
Great game.
Side not... he gets alot of stick but Ferrante for me
impressed when he came on, won challenges laid of gd passes and
worked fantastically hard. When he scores and i believ he will i
look forward to what could be a red card celebration because he'll
go fn nuts!!!

I'm with "TouchMe", Lochead was excellent. His play in the
second half was very encouraging. Agree that he linked
particularly well with Daniel.

What else could he have done?

Daniel had a great distribution game and his touches were top
notch.
Lockhead again solid at the back and for me and the most
consistant back so far this season for us.
All in all a great preformance by the nix. Top 3 goes to
Daniel, Locky, and Covs.
yep Lockhead for me. Plays left back set up a goal and scored one.
Plus he was solid in defense
Permalink
Daniel's best game of the season so far, he was on fire! Like the
rest, I've been so impressed by Lochead, I think he's leading the
assists table for the A-League now with 3 crosses (including one
off his right foot last week) that lead to goals.
Imagine how much more dangerous we could be if Elrich is a success down the right flank. Most of our best play has come down the left and we haven't had a natural right winger yet this season, with Ferrante tucking in when he has started and nobody really filling that role at all last night.

Highly unlikely he'll even play based on Saturday.

Did i miss something? What happened on saturday?

Team Welly Selection vs a 'Wellington' Selection. Elrich,
Brownlie, Costa and Clebo played for the Wellington selection and
Elrich looked well short of a run.
Well if the amount of time Ricki held Felipe and George back based
on fitness is any indication. we might not see Elrich for a
couple of weeks other than off the bench.
Coveny by a long shot. I couldn't believe how fast he was running!
Though he isn't Brazilian so he wont win this poll.

Coveny performed great as did lochead but daniel provided a lot of
creativity and did 3 of the crosses which lead to goals. Played
very well.
Coveny got my Vote. He was terrorising them. We looked far far
better with Coveny playing from the outset with the new
formation.
Daniel for me. His best game of the season so far, he was creative
and incisive.
I thought the whole team played well, but as i have to pick one out
i will go with Daniel, he was an insperation on the left. My man of
the match was Yellow Fever, we rocked the place, Awesome!!
