Thought so, seemed a fair size to me.

I enjoyed tonight's Nix fix. Some of the trialists, particularly mids and strikers impressed..Travis, Sanchez and Tsattalios (perhaps?).. if a couple of these guys stick with us I'd be well pleased. Sure the opposition wasn't A-League level but the overall impression I got was there was speed to burn and accuracy too. Saka ok, not strong, too tentative.

at 4 kings tonight spotted van strattan, had to double take and then realised he could have been playing tonight.
Also saw the whole squad including a slim Ifill with a bit of an afro.

Nicky Trvis wouldnt be too bad, and this sanchez guy interests me, although will need to look at him again in the morning.

Lock him down in the Nix Ricki... before those Western "small town" Scots lot hear about him.

We should sign Sanchez just to confuse the ACFC knitting circle.

Sanchez

Well thats ok if he missed a few chances then.

Wonder if Ricki is eyeing him up as a midfielder or a striker? Or a bit of both?? I like the initial look of him though

I see a massive opportunity for a Yellow Fever "Dirty Sanchez" tee shirt if we sign him.

Phil Imray as a 3rd keeper?! Great save off Daniel.

Pav limped off injured after missing a great header. Wonder if it serious

Yes Pav was industrious last night, looked like he took a knock to ankle or achilles in a tackle.. any updates?

Pav's a bit of an enigma to me - looked very good last season in similar games to this (thinking in particular of the game against Wairarapa United). Last night was good too - got a goal, hit the bar with a header from a very good Downey cross, and set up Nicky Travis for a great chance (and great save from Stingray) with a superb knockdown to the top of 6-yard box straight to Travis' feet.

I also like how he was keen to drop into midfield to provide extra numbers to help retain possession, and then made intellegent forward runs that helped him get into scoring positions. I'm not sure yet if he's just one of those players that seems to be in-between levels, or if it's just a lack of confidence, or something else, that's prevented him from succeeding at A-league level. But there is some ability there, and I hope the injury isn't a serious one.

Exactly El G, Pav has shown promise in the past, yet on the pitch in League games was frustrating to watch. All determination but not enough thought at times perhaps. Here's hoping (injury aside) he settles in this season, knows the ropes now, bedded in locally(owns his own t.v?)  plus his time with Aussie reps should be beneficial. If he turns out to be another performer like Manny M..who was in great form last night,...it will be another plus for the Nix.

Manny Muscat is the most important player in the Phoenix bar none.

Pavs said to me at the end of season do last year that this coming season was his season, he either needed to knuckle down and "make it" or give it up.  He has a reputation for being a bit of a loose unit (think a young Feverish), but seemed genuine.  I was however, mildly hammered by that stage of the evening.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Interesting to see Brian Bran on the list. Supposedly Ricki has had his eye on him for a while:

Wharf vs Nix.

Johnny Dwayre after an all-night bender vs. anyone.

I'd pay money to see that. Think Smithy would too.

Sanchez sounds like an absolute pro to get off the plane and get straight into a match.

We will never fully decide who has won the football.

The bender or the game? or both? they'd be equally as entertaining knowing Johnny...
