Triffids took over, we're all blind.
Was there anal probing?
Feeling a bit tender down there today and definately not farting with any confidence...

Meh. Mehmet plays the same kind of role for Perth that Greenacre plays for us. We needed a Smeltz like finisher more than we needed another Greenacre. Still think not signing him was the right call at the time.

A small town in Europe........looking to bounce straight back up....well that aint going to happen
What an emotional night!
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

I'm not overly convinced by Mehmet.
But having said that, the boys did look like the travel caught up with them in the last 20 minutes, especially with Siggy off the park, and no CB cover.
Still think we were robbed of a penalty, though Glory fans are all claiming numerous handballs that weren't given. Either way, ref was very average.
Full credit to the team for hanging in all season, after all the drama and antics in the media, they showed what true professionals they are, and just builds on how fondly they will be remembered in years to comeArd Righ2012-04-08 16:48:38
Pleasure to play you guys.
Good luck for next season.

I know what you are saying but just because Leo was still chasing at the end does not mean anything. Maybe he is just fit.

If you are old and wise you were probably young and stupid

Works for Dan Carter!

Fantastic effort all round from the boys. Proud to be a Phoenix fan. Bring on next season.

mate,if you think that leo was that great you dont set the bar too high do you. And as for the scapegoating? leo has been a nearly men for the best part of two seasons now and as for the assists well ........ struggles most of the time to even cross the ball

Siggys injury was a big blow, we were kind of lucky that during the season Siggy and Durante were able to play as many minutes as they were. Griffiths was OK but just feel that depth at CB was a weakness that could have ended up a lot worse. Finding an extra CB is quite important for the offseason. For players we know, I really think Boxall would be perfect, McKain could work as well. Feel both are quite realistic and likely to be available.
I LOVE LAMP
A method of having a less savage come-down would be to take in Team Wellington semi vs Auckland City on Sunday.

So that's a couple of coaching mistakes there. If a player made errors that large he'd cop hell here.
If you are playing 120 minutes I think you want to use all your subs so that you have fresh legs running at tired players.
Siggie's injury didn't hurt us, that we weren't prepared did.

Phoenix fans may be surprised to learn that Gareth Morgan celebrated furiously at Nib Stadium on Saturday night as Todd Howarth's extra-time winner gave the Perth Glory a 3-2 win and ended Wellington's A-League season.
But before Yellow Fever call for Morgan's head, it should be pointed out that it wasn't the Phoenix owner high fiving and hollering, but rather the bloke who writes match reports for the Glory and goes by the same name. Wellington's Morgan wasn't in Perth for the game, but fellow ownder Henry Tait was.
Tait and Phoenix general manager David Dome watched the match with a small pocket of Phoenix fans, including rugby/league/boxing star Sonny Bill Williams.
Guess Gareth will be high fiving and hollaring again
