Check this out - http://www.wellingtonphoenix.com/default.aspx?s=wellfc_news_item&id=18691

The Phoenix are after volunteers in these areas:

Gate Assistance x 4
Home Team Liaison x 1
Away Team Liaison x 1
Media x 2 (press, radio/Broadcast)
Match Day Event Office x 2
Match Officials Liaison x 1
Entertainers/Ball Kids x 2
Stretcher Bearers x 8
Promotions Assistants x 4
Match Day Presentation x 2

Have to be over 18 (didn't know you had to be over 18 to be a ball kid lol) and able to commit to 7 of the 10 home games. Training, crew gear, tickets for 2 friends provided.

I bet these positions will be well sought after, haha they want 8 stretcher bearers - they must be expecting Cleberson to break many a opposition limb this season and rightfully so, welcome to the ring of fire!!

I expect many on here to rather be up in the fever zone though

Away team liaison Job Desc:
Get them from airport to hotel
Get them from hotel to ground
Find a pub for after the game so they can drown their sorrows. Probably Backbencher to meet YF crew:-)
Collect them from police station and brothels and back to hotel

I can't be everywhere

I spoke to Feverish about him taking the stretcher bearers roll, but it quickly decided that he would just drunkingly sleep on the stretcher throughout the game

stretcher-bearers? reminds me of them running onto the pitch in the first match to assist a fallen Sydney FC player - accompanied by a decent imitation of an ambulance siren from Gate 22.

was a good larf

(and the stretcher bearers weren't needed in the end)

To tell you the truth, i would of thought a PROFESSIONAL football club, The Nix, would have people like this one the payroll.

I mean, Manchester united do it, Celtic do it, Galaxy do it, and even other A-League teams.

This falls short in my view of a professional club.

Hopfully all these possitions get filled. I mean you must be avialable for 7 out of 10 games, and will not get paid.

Perks, oh k, but dont see the Nix taking this seriously.

yeah - the nix should have full time stretcher bearers.  They would train 5 days a week (road runs with stretchers, chasing ambulances and quickly getting the injured onto their stretchers before the paramedics do) so they would be ready for the weekends.  I imagine they'd get paid about $60,000 p/a for a role like that.
