Ok, we're reaching the magical 1,000 member mark (albeit a wee bit
slowly :-) )

Surely, round 0.1 of the 2007 A-League should be taking place
soon?
By round 0.1, I refer to the presence of every YF
member who is able to make the "Local" (i.e. The Thistle
Inn) and Way Ho! that's a successful 3 points...Genius!
Feverish, HN, james_dean, cnut all you backroom staff lads -
the time is upon us to make our presence felt, to prove to sponsors
the numbers and $ power we have as a collective unit, to impress on
the unsuspecting Wellington public the support there is for
the Nix and grease the wheel such that we have a smoothly operating
and finely tuned V8 supporter's engine in fine voice and fully
fueled to meet the rigours of the season ahead.
Can I please have a 'Halleluiah!"
I Say, Can I PLEASE have a Halleluiah!"
date and time??
Chants and singing is what you do at a match, or on your way to or
from a match.
It's not some Glee club that get's together to perform like trained seals.

I think we've finally found our Choir Master...

Has to be during a Central League Soccer match. I propose...Olympic
vs Miramar Saturday 26 May - Newtown park????
A game between two local teams ? So what happens when you
have some members of the Fever supporting Miramar and some
supporting Olympic and others who follow Stop Out and are not going
to cheer for either side ?
Local clubs have local support, the Phoenix is where we all come together to support one team. Just like the fans of all the NZFC sides come together to support the A-League side.
Besides, over half the fan base will be playing on a Saturday afternoon...

tru good point. Dno why u would support stop out in the first place
lol nah all good. Olympics the team. I dno then? I guess well have
to wait till game day. All meet up before the game somewhere and
then walk to the stadium.

That's the point I think Pavlos. If the Olympic fans want to bring vocal support to Olympic games all good, but the first place we gather as the Phoenix support is when the Phoenix play.
Pre-Season cup is (possibly) our chance to warm up, but it's the atmosphere of the opener that is going to be our first real test. We're still 10 weeks from the Cup and 16 weeks from the season, by then we'll have a selection of decent chants to roll in to and see if we can make this fire.
Yeah fair enough. So are we just going to stroll in, in 10 weeks
with a sheet of paper never having practiced anything? Or is there
going to be some meeting a couple of times? We nned some warm up
for the warm up.
OK, maybe to avoid rivalry, increase the number of people able to attend and to make it Phoenix centric, why not just head to the Thistle, May 26th, around 7:00 to kick it all off...???
The banter can continue (re: who won) the aftermatches have
been finished, players (dicks) of the day decided and maybe a well
deserved pint or two will be downed?
I'm in for a bash at a pub, not a club game somewhere . ..
maybe I misread the frist post. . . Can someone clarify
what's being proposed here. . . . Drinks at the bar, or
something else. . .

Agree, what I think I proposed was that we just go to a pub
sometime to start the ball rolling...nothing about combining this
with watching football etc...
I'll leave it in the capable hands of those in
charge...feverish?
Just calm down Macca you psycho. Wait till we get some players in
town so we can do something properly (or just go hang out down the
Thistle.)

(or just go hang out down the Thistle.)
I'm happy to start with that. Would be good to at least get
aquainted with a few folks to get the ball rolling. . .
Not too sure the Thistle can acomadate for100plus people no?
