A bit disappointed, used to enjoy finding the team news before the game and of course new signing.

You can get free text from twitter to your phone? Always thought they were charge..
Not to mention some of their twitter posts would be annoying to get on your phone. News item links etc.

It'd be a service that is being used by possibly 400 people, and the cost to the Nix was probably excessive for the demand. Twitter is free- and more and more peeps will become tweeps.

Yep, a bit disappointed. Used to love getting the line-ups texted to me as I was walking up the concourse.
As stated above, not a major issue. But still a bit of a step backwards imo.

True,though im a bit hesitant to get them to my phone as they also tweet a bit of random stuff like article links etc.
Its less convenient,and not everyone has twitter.
Definetly not a major issue,don't get me wrong.

My solution for the club, Have a Twitter - Which Is Transfers and Game Day Related only. Easily fixes the random tweet crap?

yeh but then those people tell 10 people and put it on here, and it creates a buzz...that's like the difference between circulation and readership of a newspaper...it creates atmosphere and excitement...
and something exclusive. If it is free to everyone it isn't worth as much.

Used to really appreciate the phone txt messages but have signed up to the Face Book and Twitter updates so losing phone txt is no big deal.
Must admit I did however put my phone on silent at the last game - got sick of messages telling me things I had just seen but can see how that would be great if you couldn't watch or listen to the game live so, again, no big deal.

I still have no idea what twitter is and how it would work on my phone when I'm getting pisssed in the pub before a game. I do however know how to read a text.

You can set it up to text you updates and then never have to do anything again. All you need to is text START to 8987, then follow the instructions. After you've got an account sorted, text "Follow wgtnphoenixfc" then you're sorted.
So basically the same as Phone-Nix, except a bit more time in setting up, and it's free. Once that's done you don't have to do anything more.
