What is Corban Piper's best position?
(or does he need to have one?)
Where do you think he should play (ignoring who else we might have in that position)?
He's physical, brave, determined.
Not the greatest first touch.
Makes some great runs into the box to finish off goals.
I'm picking Defensive Midfielder.

Old fashioned Center forward. The "John Toshack" type that sets up the others and still gets the odd goal or two. I know Keegan loved playing with the Tosh.
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

Agree. His strength and heading are a real headache for defenders. Also, up front a poor touch shouldn't cost a goal, as it might at CB or FB. As for DM, his vision and passing aren't much. Sensibly, he usually just makes a simple pass to someone who's better at passing.

Too early to say just yet I reckon. Right now - centre forward for sure as others have said.

Keeping in mind he is only a year and a bit into playing fully professional football he could develop other areas of his game making him suit other positions more.

I am not sure a DM would suit his temperament.
He is either a centre forward or later in his career an AM in the mould of Jake Brimmer.
I was surprised to read that he (Piper) is 1.88m tall !   His width makes him look shorter......   And Brimmer for comparison barely nudges 1.70m height.

On the bench or if really desperate in defence somewhere.
