Mossy 5 Beaten at near post
Ridenton 3 Ouch
Siggy 6 Tried to lift the team
Dura 6 Covered Manny well
Manny 4 Struggled
Riera 4 Lots of errors and a red
Lia 5 Did his best
Roly 5 Poor for him
Joel 5.5 Did well to hold the ball up, couldn't take the good early chance
Krishna 5 Worked hard but not much happening
A Rod 4.5 Ineffective
Appiah 3 No impact
Hicks 6 Was useful
Rufer No impact

Ernie 4 Really? Ridenton?

Ref  7 Got things pretty right I reckon

Manny a 3 as well, he was just as shocking and for a player of much experience, I expected better.

Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

I thought the ref was pretty inconsistent. Seemed to me we were getting blown up for things that Sydney weren't, particularly in the first half

I actually thought Appiah played well, Promising debut in a shark match. Also Ridenton was not that bad, only one real error.

Appiah looked all arms & legs to me, seemed to be easily pushed off the ball but he is rather quick. Kinda similar to how Krishna was last season, looks very much like a long term project to me.

His ball control and general decision making has always been a bit dodgy but he has played very well for WSW at times and was more than useful in their ACL campaign last year. He's obviously short of a gallop at this level so I do think we need to cut him some slack.

Agree with that, and there were a couple of fouls from Sydney in the first half which I thought deserved cards but didn't get them. There was a professional foul on Roly when we were on the break, and IIRC there was no card on that huge lunge onto Dura on the edge of our box (although there might have been but I missed it.

Ridenton was awful and I was not surprised to see him dragged at half time. He clearly had no idea what he was doing at RB but his general demeanor was disappointing to see. There was one instance where he had a one-two played around him and he just completely stopped and gave up instead of turning with his runner and trying to get back into a good defensive position (that came straight after he gave the ball away by dwelling on it then truning straight into his man). And for the goal that was just absolute laziness not stepping up with the rest of the defensive line.

Manny was not much better than Ridenton yesterday. Felt sorry for him yesterday, chucked into an unfamiliar position, just coming back from an injury and without much experience to fall back on.

I thought there were several occasions where Appiah should've passed it but kept chopping back or running straight into players. Also was jogging around at the 85th min like he had been playing the whole game, while Roly was covering 3 players and looking stuffed.

Obviously not the reason we lost, but thought he was really poor.

he managed to get a couple of good crosses in early second half but aside from that pretty meh, much like everyone in yellow and black yesterday

Did anyone else think that our guys slipped over a lot compared with Bling players?

This. Ridenton is a top propsect as a midfielder and it was a tough ask to play RB. I think he needs to be cut some slack.

Appiah looked rather good compare to the rest, worst possible game to get thrown in. I thought he looked lively and had some passes into the box. Senior players should get all the blame, Manny, Dura, Riera. The Griff and Roly the better of the bunch. Krishna got no service.

I can only assume that Ridenton got the gig as RB as he had been the coolest head in training and seemed the most likely to handle it.
