Pretty hard to do this, trying to give objective ratings while it all feels like shit, but here goes....

Pasty 6 Made some very good saves, I guess if he'd known that Siggy wasn't going to head it back, he might have tried to come get the Haliti disaster. Keeps being put under pressure by the defenders pissing around and eventually deciding to pass it back. Dear oh dear.
Leo 4 Vanished in the second half, leaving the others to defend, until he was swapped to left back.
Siggy 3 Started well, but not suited to the piss around style at the back. Ricki, and Gareth, you should choose to play a style that suits your players, not the opposite. Its really obvious, its like a Tui ad.(Someone else can write the ad)
Dura 4 Left in no mans land,
Lochie 4 Some poor crosses, defended OK
Vinnie 5 Worked his arse off, lost possession twice, two good shots
Dani 4 Caught in possession several times, dominated by WSW
Fenton 5 Worked hard, won a couple of free kicks, good cut back for Stein, Lost possession a couple of times
Boyd 3 Invisible
Brockie 2 Invisibler.
Stein 4 Tried hard, hit the bar, didn't retaian ball in second half when team needed him too.
Smith 3 At least he can head the ball, we just don't have anyone apart from Brockie and the defenders
Totori 2 no impact
Lindsay 2 Had a run

Ricki - it's time to say we will play a style that suits our players. Don't let them piss around at the back. This season the big thing was that we had speed up front, now this slow passing style negates that.

YF - well done on keeping the support going despite the lack of encouragement on the pitch.

Pretty well spot on, although would struggle to give Brockstar a 1. Yes  he did not  get ball delivered to him on a plate, but to me when that happens he seems to just switch off. I know he will never be a Greenie in terms of work rate, but when the game is not going your way you have got to try and do something different and work even harder off the ball.

Would have Pasty down to a 4/5. One really good save, but undone by not being able to play with the ball at his feet.

Ricki a 3. Didn't change the system when were being dominated in midfield (subs were straight swaps), Stein/Brockie did not press WSW midfielders in the 2nd half and both stayed too high up the pitch in the 2nd half. WSW could press with a man spare in midfield and have a man spare in possession.

Ref was poor 2, thought Poljak/La Rocca (can't remember who now) should have been given a yellow for the professional foul on Totori - but no even awarded a free kick, and hyphen could have also gotten a yellow for this challenge on Fenton - again not even a free kick. This lead to tensions boiling over a little bit with Dani kicking out at Mooy and the handbags the ensued.

Mooy's dive that was ignored deserves a mention as well but looking at Jeronimo that is now something we just accept in the A-League.

Good on the YF for not ignoring Mooy's dive! YF to ref next home game!

Don't think Smith deserves a 3 and Cam doesn't deserve a 2.
Both kept the ball a bit, which is soo much more than the rest of the team did.

Have never seen such a low score before.

Paston was not a world beater in this game, but was still better than anyone else.

Which is why he got a good rating... 6

I think the low ratings are partly to do with expectations of a home performance, where we put the acid on the visiting team. We didn't.

Stein deserves more in my opinion. 5 or 6. First half was possibly the best I've seen him. 2d half well, hardly got the ball because we hardly got the ball. Can't do much with no ball and can't do much with the ball when you've got no teammates the opposition half.

Vinnie 5 Worked his arse off, lost possession twice, two good shots

I am gobsmacked by this, what game did you watch? Do you know which player Vinnie Lia is? Lost Possesion Twice? I watched him for most of the game and it was a hell of a lot higher than that, in the double figures (if I go by the number of text I sent each time he lost the ball). You do realise when a player passes does pass to no one or to the opposition it is also considered losing possession? Vinnie Lia's ball retention is one of the biggest problems we have at the moment, the guys ball skill isn't up to the level needed especially if we are wanting to play are more attractive style of play.

Me and a number of friends watched him specifically in this game as we have been moaning about this for a while. Yes he makes a number of tackles each game and does win possesion back now and again (no whjere near as many times as he loses it though) but soon as he gets the ball at his feet he is a massive liability.

Im starting to think that maybe you are Vinnie Lia himself, you do realise you rated him as the second best player on the park for the Phoenix? Thank god Ricki Herbert for once noticed how terrible he was playing and subbed him off.

I will remind you he has 123 appearances for the Phoenix and in total that has produced 2 goals and 7 assists.

Bit harsh. Truth hurts I think.

Please explain the personal attack here? Unless it actually is Vinnie Lia writing that

Last word.  I was suggesting your tone made it quite aggressive and reminded you (and everyone) that a personal attack isn't welcome.  If you had crossed the line the post would be gone.

You just copped a general reminder to all.

A bit like my Sigmund pic ? I was thinking of doing a Herbert/badger in a suit pic. Re-thought that.....

I would call it an agressive post, not a personal abuse post (in my opinion)

Agree it was agressive

Perhaps, but you were correct in what you said. Lia just keeps giving the ball away. I know that this is not the EPL, but I was once told by a ex Arsenal and Scottish international that if you give the ball away more than 4 times in a game you have played poorly.

I think it would be better working on passing accuracy as a % rather than a number. Xavi averages about 5 misplaced passes per game :P
If anyone wants to compile the numbers, each individual pass for every game this season is available on 442.

Yes but Xavi actually tries to play some passes that can open up the opposition. As we have seen from the number of career assists Lia has had, for him this is very rare. I dont mind a player giving the ball away if they are trying to thread a ball for a striker to run into in the box. But we know the phoenix don't try this often. All he does is play it back to the defence or play it outwide and he still loses it all the time

I think it is a well known fact that Xavi>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Lia.

You did not get why I used the Xavi example.
