Moss 7 He's been so consistant all season.
Christie 8 More impressive every game
O'Dor 6 A little unstable this game. Solid Enough tho
Dodd 7.5 Another good game, Our Rock.
Lochhead 7 Solid, offers good attack
Felipe 8, Some great touches. Class again. Great goal in between 2 defenders
Daniel 7, Offers so much on attack. Defence is steadily improving
Ferrante 6, Solid enough.
Johnsen 7, Workhorse. Terrific.
Smeltz 6.5, Very high workrate, a few silly fouls and offsides.
Aloisi 6.5, Held together the midfield well, a bit rusty on attack.

George 6.5, Made a good impact. Communication a worry.
Coveny 4, Did he touch the ball.

MOM - Felipe.

Covs had one decent touch...but he's certainly not playing as well as the others
I like tautologies because I like them.

The way i look at it why play Coveny when you can have his exact style minus 10 years. (Smeltz)

I agree Xcellent, your ratings are about what I thought.
Ferrante didn't have a lot of impact on the game this week. and yeh ODor got bundled away from the ball for their 2nd goal.

Oi Oi Edgecumbe... lets have a clean sheet

Agree with you though maybe Moss 8?

Yeah i would like to see how Cleberson would do instead of O'Dor, but O'Dor and Dodd are working well 2getha so im not so sure. I really think Ferrantes days are numbered because Tim Brown is working back to fitness and the new signing of Ahmad Elrich. But a draw isnt bad, i still think George has something to offer and i would like to see him again next week!

Agree with you though maybe Moss 8?

Yeah why not! He's outstanding.

Moss: 7, Did well with the situations he was put in.
Lochhead: 7, Didn't see to much other than runs down the wing, but solid none-the-less.
Dodd: 9, Absolutley solid! Rock hard as well!
O'Dor: 8, Was a great combination with Dodd, though put himself in awkward situations sometimes.
Christie: 7, Good game, surprised me there ol' Plodder
Johnson: 6, Quiet. Didn't see of here too much from him.
Aloisi: 6, Tryed too hard to prove himself against his old club I think. Though did his job ok.
Ferrante: 4, Still not worth the space. Wait till Elrich is ready....
Felipe: 9, Stunner! Beautiful combination with Daniel, proper Brazilian flair
Daniel: 7, Played well alonside Felipe. Lots of passes, crosses and no rolling around after a foul.
Smeltz: 6, Got the goal we needed, so did his job. Extra coudos because he has a mullet!

Subs
Coveny: 6, Didn't see too much of him, but was ok.
George: 6, Again, too short a game time to judge properly, but rushed his passes.

I Thought Dodd looked a little unsteady early on. May have been due to the repeated knocks to the head...
But he got better once they made him look like a rugby player...

Moss had a 7 for me... I'd like to see him come out more on corners etc, we looked shakey on set peices tonight and that would of helped.

Lochead a 6 didn't get up the field as much in recent weeks, didn't seem to be involved.

Odor and Todd 7's generally very good most of adelaids attacks came down the flanks. The ref hated Dodd!!

Plodder a 6 - did some nice things but was guilty of some poor passing particularly in the first half.

Alosisi - work horse 6 - nothing special tonight.

Ferrante - much like Aloisi does alot of work defensively... didn't push up as much tonight which i don't know if it is a good thing or bad thing. 6

Daniel - a 7 better tonight than last couple of weeks, a couple lovely nut megs, seems really passionate which is great.

Campos a 8 generally very good was greedy once or twice and could of laid it off, one particular instance in the first half stands out... but who can begrudge a person for shooting.

Smeltz 5. got a goal yes, but other than that gave silly fouls, passed poorly at times and needs to relearn the offside rule. His worse game this year.

and i forgot Johnson... which probaly means he deserves a 5, didnt really see him today.

but his passing is excellent.

The fact that he didn't score in the last minute, from a very difficult chance, does not mean that he had a bad game.  Only people who know nothing about football would think that (and hence, give him a 4)

His shooting is letting him down...What a dumb thing to say about a midfielder. Definitely not enough to drop his rating to a 4. Go learn a bit more about the game and how its played

my ratings:

Moss 3.  Didn't score from any of his kicks
Christie 2.  No shots.
Dodd -56.  got the ball in his own 6 yard box, and didn't score.  Waste of space

etc etc

All I do is make the stuff I would've liked

Smeltz scored, surely he should get a 10...

Its not his shooting that letting him down, its the fact that with Aloisi and Johnson as the holding roles, so he should be getting up LOTS MORE! Every time he tries to be fancy and do little quick passes, he screws up! But there is still time to prove himself. Christie has impressed me in his new role as right back, very competant there. shabba1212007-09-23 13:57:03

Moss 7 Solid as usual
Christie 7 Not the plodder of V1, looks comfortable at RB
O'Dor 6 Still learning
Dodd 8 Solid again, very efficent performance.
Lochhead 7 Stable enough
Felipe 8, What can I say?
Daniel 7 Is manning up.
Ferrante 6 Great passes, sometimes lets himself down
Johnson 7, Tireless
Smeltz 7, Offsides a tad annoying.
Aloisi 7, Sometimes reactions are slow, but his age is a factor there.
George 6.5, We saw him!
Coveny 5, Not an impact player

Interesting the way our midfield is setting up - Johnson, Aloisi and Ferrante all seemed to sit in front of the back four - with Felipe and Daniel pushing on. This left a lot of space in the middle of the park and as a result Adelaide controlled a lot of possession.

It may be that Herbert had sought to give Adelaide very little space in the attacking third. It may be it is the nature of the players on the park. Tim Brown is far more inclined to close down space and harrass for instance.

I'm not sure i have a preference at this stage. The main thing is that the midfield operates as a unit and to a plan.

I do think, however, that Ferrante and Johnson were very quiet - perhaps as a result of this approach - and that we relied almost entirely on the Brazilians, Smeltz to try and unlock Adelaide. Interestingly, both our goals came from wing back delivery (Lochhead and Christie balls into the box). If we are going to have so many midfielders holding, it is important those wing backs get forward. Perhaps that is part of the plan?

I'm starting to warm to Ferrante too. BUT i think with Elrich and Brown coming in, he will find it hard to hold his spot. Says nothing about the player, it just shows our depth.

i thought Aloisi had a poor game and Felipe should be made King or Mayor of wellington. Him and George in the same starting lineup? Feverzone played quite well until we fell behind.

He has a good work rate and good tackling skills but just can't shoot, has he got a single shot on target this season?

As has been pointed out, just because a player isn't shooting/scoring doesnt mean players arent having good games. This isn't FIFA Football on your Xbox. Johnson had a great game, those who say they never saw him, he is our 10 yard man, won a stack of possession, and allowed others to push forward.  How many times did he track back, stop counter attacks, when other players wastefully lost possession on attack? One of my picks for MOM.

As with some of the above comments i think Ferrante did pretty well last night . He is getting better every week and yes his shoting isn't great but that hardly warrants a 4

Ferrante certainly didn't have a 'bad' game but he definately didn't play as well as last week. The great passes that we saw v Sydney just weren't happening. I'd give him a  6 or 6.5
