Over all a bloody good effort, but a loss and a red card shesssh

Warner 6 Sound with not many saves to make
Manny 6.5 Bombed forward really well, pointed deducted for late red
Dura 7.5 Classy display, apart from Smeltz beating him once, set up Greenie with a great cross
Siggy 7 Did well, hit the bar
Lochie 6 Was out jumped by v d Brink before the goal but solid apart from that
Leo 5.5 Buzzed around
Ward 6 some wayward passes but not bad
Smith 7.5 Worked his arse off, kept trying to make things happen
Sanchez 6.5 Looked likely without really making it happen
Daniel 5.5 Some good passes, a bit slow to the ball as well
Greenie 6 Should have buried that header, but worked hard
Tsatt 4 Lightweight, no impact

What do you think??

Pretty good summary, deserved to win.
Ward down at least 0.5, every second/third touch was a shocker, gave the ball away heaps.
Smith up 0.5 thought he gave a lot and picked the ball up half the time when Ward lost it, made up for Ward and Bertos's lack of impact.
Bit harsh on Greenie too, although you're right he should have scored.

Bit harsh on Daniel - set piece delivery was consistently the best I can remember seeing from anyone in a Phoenix shirt.

Thought Daniel, Smith and Sanchez went really well. We actually looked like a football team who could play the ball.
Warner looked a little shakey at times....Manny was outstanding....but those 2 yellowcards

Thought Daniel played really well, his set pieces invariably hit Phoenix heads and he tested Vukovic on a number of occasions with shots just under the crossbar. Some great attacking runs by Durante as well

But we need holding midfielders, not skill!!!!

Sanchez and Smith were good. Add a decent striker and we actually look a lot better than I thought we would.

Sux we dont have import spots left for another import, because a class striker would really make us quite a formidable side.

Sign smith up full time in my opinion. Looks the goods for sure. If only we hadnt signed Warner (no offence). Alternatively we may get Killen up top sometime soon.

Sucks about Muscat getting sent off, so many times there that someone could have been given the red. Burns, Miller, come to mind. Lindsay/Downey at RB next week?

Does anybody know if this means Manny's yellow card count gets reset to zero? If so, it might be the one positive.

I'd prefer he was still on several yellows and left his suspension to a game not against Marco, Archie and Kewell

would mark leo lower, too many back passes and unable to go round his man
Tsatt seemed compleely out of his depth playing where he was
Daniel 0.5 better I think
Lochhead  0.5 lower
Dodgy keeper

Daniel looks in best form for ages.

Dura was class, SigmUnd good also.

Smith fully deserving of a full time A-League gig.

Tsattalios looked a squad filler, perhaps trying too hard to impress in his first five minutes on.

Obviously I haven't seen him in any of the pre-season games or in training but I don't see how people can already be writing off Tsattalios after one 15 minute cameo. Casting my mind way, way back I can remember similar comments being made about a certain Manny Muscat.

umm...I recall everyone thinking Manny was class...can't recall any writing him off- Tsattalios hasn't shown much preseason either...

Really? Obviously you've blocked out the full horror of Manny being made to look like a clodhopping no-hoper in one of his first games when Victory put 4 past us at RoF. Danny Allsop chewed him up and spat him out. The press was all bad that day!
