I'm not too sure about this one, I think the pressure got to the boys after half time for a while, but one sided refereeing from Beath destroyed the Dogs and we capitalised.

Reddy 6 Didn't have to do anything much
Troy 7 Did well, who'd have thought he'd be our number one RB!
Dura 7 Solid
McKain 7.5 Strong again
Lochie 6.5 Solid too
Manny 7.5 Very strong, great assist
Lia 6.5 Pretty good
Timmo 8 How does he do it?! Should coach Greenie on how to be in the right place!
Ifill 9 Blody magic
Greenie 6.5 Closish to scoring, did have his chances.
Daniel 7.5 Did really well hanging on to the ball
Caceres 7 One great run and ok the rest of it
Dadi 5 Little chance to make impact and he duly obliged

Beath, well, you'd almost think he played for us... no penalty, blew whistle which stopped them when we had taken the ball but played on for a goal, must have given us free kicks 10 to 1. All in all a top performance! Don't know if his assessor would agree though!
YF Sounded very good through the mikes. Awesome to see Daniel rarking up the boys.

No Leo then? Or are my old eyes playing tricks on me

I thought he was fairly mud, again, anyway. Better defending than attacking and his set pieces are sh*tJag2010-02-12 22:18:33

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

if we had the younger, stronger Dadi, he would have had the 4th goal.

Ifill +0.5?

I also think Troy deserved at least a 7.5 but then again I have some sort of weird hearfield man-crush.

Definitely right there - in fact I was surprised when he was subbed off because he was getting through a power of work in defence. Overall he wasn't bad but his touch was frustatingly wooden when he was in good positions to attack the goal. A confidence issue maybe.

Except for the non-penalty I thought Lochy was very good too, especially in the first half.

Reddy 6 Solid
Troy 8 I love his crossing and he knows exactly how to push forward.
Dura 8.5
McKain 5.5
Lochie 6.5
Manny 8 Perfect little holding midfielder.
Lia 6.5
Timmo 8.5
Ifill 9.5 (Only on his standards) Put at least 3 players on the ground, and went around players at least 15 times. Magic magic magic.
Greenie 7.5 Off the ball running opens up the front. I think he plays a bigger role in Brown's goals than one can see!
Daniel 7.5 I also love Daniel's crossing.
Caceres 7 Always goes out their trying to prove a point, but may backfire a bit.
Dadi 5 Not a fan of Dadi, mucks around a lil pre match and didn't do much.

Oh and Leo can have a 6.5.Michael2010-02-12 22:29:31

Leo bumped maybe at least a half point. He had some pretty decent moments, in both attack and defence.

Hearfeild was all over his man tonight, had him going backwards and forwards. Lochy was sublime as well, the depth our back four controlled the whole game -naz-2010-02-12 22:39:02

Oi Oi - it was magic -i'm giving them all 10

unreal !!

on a scorers appeal - Iffy gets twelve out of ten

He's like felipe but with the bonus of a footbaling  brain and the idea that he has team-mates !

Iffy has to get a-league  player of the year - if he continues in this vein for the next games

I would put both Lochy and Hearfield to 7.5 or even 8. Both got up and down their wings, put in a lot of good ball. Would probably put Lia to 7 aswell.

Ref was shocking. Lochy definitely got the ball on the penalty call (replayed it a few times, and the ball changes the way its spinning) but the freekick whistle was appalling. It has happened to me before from a corner and we conceded, it is incredibly frustrating.aitkenmike2010-02-12 22:59:40

Lia deserves hell of a lot more than the 6.5's seen so far, the ball he played through to Muscat for the first goal was quality. I thought he had a top game second only to Ifill.

Have to agree with couple of observations re Bertos he really has lost his way, battled away tonight but not much quality or inspiration.

Are the two finds of the season

1. Manny as a midfielder
2. Hearfield as right back?

No one saw that coming and both magnificent in every game they've had in those positions

Hearfield was fantastic, I'd bump him up to an 8.5.

Lia also deserves bumping up a bit.

Agreed with Lia - was brilliant for the 2nd game in a row.

Ifill 3 pts
Lia 2pts
Brown 1pt

Agreed. With it all, actually. But particularly regarding Lia. He played extremely well and has become a vital player for us.

not sure tim brown was worth an 8..scored a good goal but I though manny was a better option to stay on when he was subbed...tim looked tired and he's not the quickest and fittest we have

PT, if there is one thing that Tim Brown definitely is, its fit. he is a machine.

too avoid mega-quotes

I'd say Paullt that if Timmo looks knackered it is because he gives it his all and makes runs into space or to track players that other players might not do

 - fair enough for a striker to leave a bit in the tank for a 30 yard  sprint in the last ten mins

but as a midfield player tim really does do a lot of work off the ball

re timmo vs Manny coming off - timmo is now better at not making mistakes when he is physically and mentally at the end of his energy levels

Manny (like troy last season) can still sometimes get too revved up and make errors of judgement (both are superb players in my view , but will need a bit of input to manage themselves in the area of  energy/arousal/decison-making)

not sure if thats how I would sum Tim and his contribution up but It was just my opinion and I see no reason for further quotes on it either....

+1. Mrs Zonknz was telling me to give him a chance, about 2 seconds before he did his mis-dribble and conceded the ball.

(This may have been her fault.)
