Woh, it could have been six or ten, but great to see desperate defending keeping them out too, they could have had three
Crowther 5.5 dodgy at times, a great save too, a clean sheet
Manny 6.5 Didn't seem to have a lot to do, but was usual hard nosed self
Siggy 7.5 Put his body on the line several times, thank goodness
Dura 7.5 Dodgy pass should hacve cost us, but another fine leadership display from the back
Lochie 6 Did the job
Ifill 8.5, to see him back in our penalty area late in the game sums him up, bludy excellent, a pity he didn't get a hat trick
Lia 8 Top display in centre mid, passed it around well
Brownie 7 Scored again. Has to stop giving away the silly free kicks one day
Daniel 7 Cool and calm, good crosses
Greenie 7 Nice finish, shame the pen was saved
Costa 7.5 Had a hand in two goals
Troy 7 Did well
Caceras 7 ditto
Leo Not much chance

Well done!
What do you think??

Crowther 6.5  Thought he made a couple of very good saves - the usual nerves for a young keeper but can only get better
Manny 7 Much improved performance. Got forward quite often.
Siggy 7.5 Great to see him back to his usual self after the pasting he got against Sydney - some desperate tackles
Dura 7.5 See above. Got hit in the nuts and kept going too - good stuff.
Lochie 5 His worst game in a long time
Ifill 8.5 If this is how he plays when he has niggling injuries i'd love to see him at completely full fitness. Just terrific. He had a bad first 15 mins but after that he was everywhere
Lia 8 Getting better and better every game. Some of the passing was terrific.
Brownie 6.5 Despite his poachers goal I thought he was a bit poor in comparison to Lia - usually a little behind he play
Daniel 7 Back to his old self, no doubt.
Greenie 7.5 May have had a penalty saved but I thought he had a very good game. Made the finish look easy.
Costa 7.5 What a flick to Greenie for the 2nd! Great work. Also nice work to get a shot off in the first place for the 1st goal. Very impressive. The real test for him now is seeing if he can be consistant week in, week out.
Troy Not on long enough to rate but was lively
Caceras As above
Leo 7 Set up the third and was pretty involved - could've scored

yeh thought Greenacre had a good game, and that second goal was important. had a good header on target, and nearly got to a couple of other balls.

not sure about the lochy hating.

Great for our front 3- last year it was Bertos-Smeltz- Barbarouses- this year Ifill- Barbarouses- Greenacre! let's hope the first of many- with Hearfield, Bertos and Caceres knocking on the door.

Great signings.

Lia's shot (at least the first one) was a genuine midfield rocket- a low shot and hard hit that was going in...good to see him adding something to the attack.

Class all round the park tonight. Have to see it against tougher opposition.

Lia had a few absolute shockers in the first half (as did quite a few players) so I could never give him an 8 in that game. Passed it around well in the second half though sure.

Not Ifill's best game overall, but showed his magic which is what we ned.

Costa had more than just "a hand" in both goals. Great quick feet in the box before the strike for the first goal. Ok, keeper should have saved it, but he totally created that off a scrappy ball. Second goal was a genius flick to Greenacre.

Troy did do well. Was pleased to see that. Leo set up the last goal I think. Nice ball to Ifill. Caceras looked alright, didn't get that much chance on the ball.

Crowther scares me at the back. Yeah, he kept a clean sheet, but I think that was more due to desperate defending (esp in 1st half) than miraculous saves. The one really good save he pulled off was offside anyway.
And I actually thought Lochy was quite good tonight. Getting forward a lot and linking with Daniel / Lia etc, so that we actually started moving it through the midfield rather than lumping it over the top.
Other than that, I basically agree.

Pretty much how I saw it. Only difference would be Bertos a 7 is too high, apart from laying on the goal thought he was ordinary and is it written into his contract that he must take the free kicks!

Setting up a goal and almost scoring off a Hearfield (?) cross if he latched on the end of it..Couldn't do much more coming off the bench imo.

thought Lochy and Manny had their off moments but that touchline trapped  a few players out wide on both sides with the effect of the wind
agree with the rest of the ratings

very impressed once we settled down under thew conditions after the 1st 10-15 mins  (it was a worrying start in terms of lost possession)

not sure thast I would have rated brown as high as 6.5  largely absent until he scored that goal and feel that in the midfield Lia is starting to become a stand out

Think you lot are condemning Lochhead because of a couple of woeful touches.

Otherwise he was sound.  Still loves to crank the engine and push forward.  Scares right backs to death.

No excuse for letting the ball roll under your foot at that level though I'd have thought.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

It was a fabulous result and everyone played their part.

I thought Greenie had his best match so far in a phoenix shirt. I have been harsh on him a few times but when he has the ball at his feet and is facing goal then he's v good.

At times I thought Ifill looked a bit of a lone ranger stuck out on the wing....they need to get him involved with play more often....class player though.

Costa provided the spark...he's hungry and has some nice touches. It will be hard to leave him out.

But my MOM is Vince Lia. When you watch it live you see how good he is. every team needs a player like that. Apart from his defensive scrapping he does a lot of link play. his passing was super. Often players like that don't get much praise coz they are doing a lot of the unglamourous stuff. But they are vital for the transfer of the ball from defense to attack.

I agree with everything you say about Lia, he works his ass off in that defensive mid role and intercepts A LOT of dangerous looking passes, not to mention putting in some great tackles!

He nearly even got himself on the scoresheet last night. I thought he had a blinder!

I thought Manny struggled at times defensively.
