What a shit way to start a new week.

Pasty 4.5 Two major stuff ups, came half way for the goal
Leo 5.5 Getting better defensively, needed to create that crucial opening down the line, noone else did
Siggy 5 Got beaten a couple of times, but mainly strong
Dura 5.5 One of the better ones
Lochie 5 Satisfactory
Fenton 4.5 Was too far in the middle for several crosses, ran hard but created little
Manny 5 A good first 30 min
Smith 5.5 Kept going, but not very creative
Ifill 4 Too many crosses and passes astray, boxed in too easily
Brockie 3.5 Created nothing
Stein 5.5 Received ball well in first half, had a couple of chances
Lia 5 Ran hard
Benji 4 Little linking with others

Pigeon 7 Held his position well
Ref 6 Pretty good game, consistent

What do you think?

Pigeon deserves more than a 7, he was the best thing about that game.

Went missing in the last 20 though.

Pigeon easily covered more ground than Ifill.

better wing play as well

He even managed to sneak an extra pigeon onto the field without the ref noticing at one stage, top work!

Take a mark off Sigmund for the goal, take 2 off Totori for not learning anything and bump Leo up by 0.5. He is a reasonable right back considering its not his natural position.

Grumpy old bastard alert

Thought siggy had an unusually off game tonight. It was very odd to see,and I can't think of any other game where I have thought that.

thought smith had just about his best game in central midfield so far

lack of cutting edge in the final third cost us, shoulda won that 2-1 or 3-1 really

I thought he was good too, although lacked in patches and some passes were off.
Some people are arguing that he shouldnt be so deep picking up the ball, but thats pretty much a CM's job. I don't care what position he is supposed to be filling in a formation.
For me, it looks like RH has instructed manny to be the cm who predominantly moves from side to side on the field to break up play in front of the back four, whereas smith is up and down the middle of the pitch picking up the ball, passing it off, and making runs straight up the middle. We have missed these type of runs and he made two great ones early on in the game.
If this is how RH has instructed them to play (And it looks like it is) then we can't really fault the players for filling those spaces

He seemed to drive well out of midfield into attacking positions in the first half, perhaps disappeared a bit in the second

There were lots of good things about that game, I felt it was going to peter out to a draw or that we might explode and bag a couple as they tired, I never thought we were going to lose until they scored. Very deflating.

I'd knock him down .5 for continually finding himself isolated.

On the contrary, I thought he was very good flying under the radar into open spaces. Great positioning.

I don't think we made the best use of him on attack.  Get the ball in to him quick and he can hold it for a man with a better finish.

How's my driving? - Whine here

Also think he may have played ccm onside on a few occasions.

Pidgeon was man of the match for me, although I do agree he faded late in the second half.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Phoenix fans. We have to win them over one fan at a time.

With that kinda racist chanting, I hope the Fever Zone offered to shake hands after the game at least.

He was in an offside position more often the Berisha

Smith was good. I would say his best game this season, but he's been crap in all the away games.
Stein was good, think he should drop back to pick up the ball a bit more.

He's been chilling in the same area for the two days since as well. Feeding on grass seed. Just weird because other pigeons are usually gone at the first sight of people on the ground.

Fuck this stupid game
