Sorry I'm late, it was a long but happy drive home!
Mossy 9 Bloody brilliant saves
Manny 7  Defended well
Siggy 8 An excellent display, strong and calm in possession (take note midfield)
Dodd 7 Did well too, with the defence under too much pressure as usual
Lochy 7 Did his part in a strong unit
Hearfield 6 After the first half he deserved to be subbed, but helped create two goals
Timmo 5 Lost the battle
Ferrante 5 Pushed off ball too easily
Daniel 6 Calm on ball and made some useful pressure challenges
Leo 6.5 Scored!
Schmeltzy 8 Made that goal look easy, another classy display
Plodder 6 Did well in the midfield

I haven't seen a replay, so may stand to be corrected! As always!

Here is what you posted last week Oi Oi and I'm calling you on it.
10 Pure Perfection
9 Outstanding
8 Very Good
7 Good
6 Average
5 Off Colour
4 Poor
3 Woeful
2 Embarrassingly Bad
1 Give up the Game

Mossy 9 Bloody brilliant saves Agreed
Manny 7  Defended well 6 Tarik El**ch had his number
Siggy 8 An excellent display, strong and calm in possession (take note midfield) 7 woke up quicker than Dodd
Dodd 7 Did well too, with the defence under too much pressure as usual 4 3 goal win doesn't hide the fact that for 60 mins, he looked asleep
Lochy 7 Did his part in a strong unit 6 The korean boy shot at will
Hearfield 6 After the first half he deserved to be subbed, but helped create two goals Hard to mark this when you are invisible but 6 would be about right
Timmo 5 Lost the battle 6 Played out of position at right half
Ferrante 5 Pushed off ball too easily Much like Hearfield - hard to mark when you've been invisible for 1.75 games. Can you give 0 for 'did he play?'
Daniel 6 Calm on ball and made some useful pressure challenges Agreed
Leo 6.5 Scored! 7 put himself about more so than the other players
Schmeltzy 8 Made that goal look easy, another classy display Hard to mark when you are marked out of the game for 89 mins. Scoring a pen and a chip doesn't mean 8 though
Plodder 6 Did well in the midfield. Sub - who cares

I fail to see how anyone gets higher than a 7 except Moss. We were not in it until the goals and a 3-0 result doesn't hide the fact that it was not that good a performance when we could have been 4 down at the half. I said in another post after the game you'd give out 7's or something to that effect.

Take the ugly win though and it was downright ugly

Oi Oi, how long does that drive take you?

Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

I'm sorry - but as you were at the game this week- you would have been drunk, so we can not take these seriously. Looks fair though

Agent - Hearfield was so invisible he set up 2 goals! Maybe the Newcastle players couldn't see him?valeo2009-01-05 21:46:29

That took two minutes though, what was he doing the rest of the time? Enlighten us please.

I was waiting to see if OOE would give Moss a 10. I thought it was the perfect game for a 'keeper. (cue wellingtonphoenixfan)

In response to above.... The drive home takes 7 hours.... Yes Feverish I was drunk, but mostly with the emotion of the game, plus the few beers but can't stand that stuff they sell at the ROF.... Yeh I did toy with a 10 for Mossy, he was perfection, but, maybe I'm looking for even more....

I'll respond to Agent 47 later, but strikers are allowed to be invisible in my books if they bury their chances. Midfielders should not be.

A 10!?!? He actually did make mistakes he dropped a few balls and did anyone see when El**ch got past him but it was out of his control I don't know wth Moss was thinking with leaving it or did he just simply miss it?

Actually, Moss smacked the ball with his palm against El**ch's shins so it would go for a goal kick. Quite clever, and safer than trying to hold it and spilling it with an unguarded net.

El G I imagine a different keeper would of gone for the safe route and tried to save it and probably have made it. Imagine if El**ch had somehow controlled it or caught up with it considering how fast he is. You can't actually believe that was the safest way to deal with it?wellyphoenixfan2009-01-06 13:30:19

No. That was the safest thing to do. He could only strecth with one hand, very hard to safely catch a slick moving ball on the ground with one hand with an attacke bearing down on you. Smacking the ball against the striker's shins is the smartest thing to do in that situation. No-one would have caught up with that ball, no matter how fast they are.

From where I was sitting and again on two replays I've watched, Moss deliberately let it hit El**ch as there was no way he (El**ch) was going to get near it. Quite deliberate and excellent work.
I certainly hope you weren't listening to the twat Dewhurst who is the poorest commenatator since Fred De Jong

Just quietly, you need to seriously stop your anti-Moss ranting, it's getting quite embarrassing

Totally agree Moss made right decision.

WPF time to change the record, if all eleven played up to Moss's standard each week we'd be winning the a-league and would have the trophy in the cabinet from last season as well.

I get the feeling even that line will be a bit beyond him...

Ok I haven't seen the replay but it did look dodgy but if you think it was the safest and best option then I will take your word for it. Just to make it clear I am not having an anti-Moss campaign he played well, yes but perfect? No. I am pretty sure the person who suggested to give him a 10 was just trying to wind me up as im sure none of you thought he was perfect on Sunday.
