Well well, we can attack with venom when we want to! Top performance boys, and good line-up Ricki

Warner 6 Adequate
Lia 6 Did well
Siggy 7.5 much better than last week, should have scored.
Dura 7.5 much better too, led the team well
Manny 8 Good defence, linked so well, had a hand in two goals
Daniel 8 Made things happen
Smith 8 Held that centre midfield together, which set up the game
Timmy 6 Good interpassing, still defends from the wrong side too often
Leo 6.5 Nice set up for Greenie, defended well at crucial times too
Dani 8 Great finishes, excellent passing
Greenie 7 The lowest diving header ever seen, birthday boy!
Pavlov 7 holy hell the guy IS a striker, two good goals
Downey good to be back

Ricki 8 Great game plan and line up. Do it again!

YF 8 Lots of noise coming thru

What do you think ???

Daniel 3 goal assists! If we tried playing like that away from home, we'd win a few more than we have. Really was the complete team performance with one decent goal for them and a softy. Paston would have saved them!

its funny how well a team can play when the coach doesnt play destroyers in the middle of the park.

Smith was outstanding for me, as was Sanchez,

Leo still not himself, but his assist and a few phases did see him showing glimpses of pre-injury Leo.

Daniel has to be above leo in the pecking order! Surely.

I thought Leo was good value tonight. Quick thinking and quick footwork to set up Greenie's goal and lots of hard running overall.

I thought Leo did well. Made some great surging runs.

Bearing in mind Jets were crap....

I thought Daniel was superb.
Behind him, Sanchez had a great game and should have got a hat-trick, given the ball at the right time.

think thats a bit harsh on warner, the wall seemed to disappear for the free kick, and the header went in the corner.

..with no-one on the left post. However, he did seem to be stuck to the spot on a few occasions.

pretty much agree with those ratings

last cupla games have changed my opinion on what our strongest XI when fit would be
obviously ricki wouldnt agree in many areas but if we had our full squad to pick from right now i'd put out;

Paston
Lia-SigmUnd-Durante-Lochead
Smith-Muscat
Ifill-Sanchez-Daniel
Greenacre

that gives me wood

muscat and lia perhaps could be swapped, but happy either way based on lia's recent RB efforts

yeah, though imagine having pantelis on the left, would have been awesome. the only one i would perhaps change is daniel for leo but they are neck and neck. still great team

Daniel, Smith and Manny need to be signed for 2 year contracts now! Smith was excellent in midfield.

Might try ranking rather than rating. When everyone was good you want to know who was better. Pity we can't have a 3 2 1 vote MOM system.

Daniel - hopefully takes Leos place in the line up for the next few weeks if it's between them. Could have had 6 assists.
Smith - So professional, CDMs main concern is often positionality, you    could see he waS dying to get up and join the party, but unlike Lia or Brown in CDM he stayed in position all game. Even used his mandatory yellow nicely.
Sanchez - could have been the first Nix hattrick if Brown had had Daniels skill and vision. Would like it to be Daniel Ifill Greenie Siggy or Muscat, But Sanchez getting it wouldve been fine.
Dura
Siggy - hard to decide between these two but dura edges it for a quality run to the jets goal box and playing with a bit of an ankle knock
Manny- pretty assist, when will he score? Really thought he was going to when Leo released him.
Pav- Did more than just get a brace, nice crosses and play off the ball. First goal was on a plate for him but did well to get onside. Second was a bullet.
Greenie - would have looked a little rusty if he hadn't scored, but held the ball up better than he has been doing. Still too short.
Leo - possibly the best assist of the night, one the ball and had a lot of work to do.
Lia - did alright, love to see him stay there so Manny can get back in the mid. And have a mid of Manny Smith and Sanchez. Mouthwatering.
Warner - hard to blame him, their cheaty tactics made the first goal impossible. second on, not saying Paston wouldve got it, but he definately wouldve been a lot closer if he didn't.
Brown - not terrible but still the worst, doesnt deserve his spot.
Downey - didn't really touch the ball, needed game time though, so it was a good move, even if it did make the MOM almost cry.

Thought Lia did very well at right back - gave the ball away once or twice, but won most of the tackles that counted.

Just caught the highlights on Sky, Smith was on the post, but changed sides as the cross came over, when I think it was Durante, got pulled towards the corner by a Jets player making a run.

Top game by most of the players.
I was a bit confused by Rickies subs. Why haul Daniel off....he was on fire and showing no signs of tiring. Lia should have come off for Downey in a straight swap at RB. Lia was on a yellow and his hatchet man style of tackling could have got him another.

Greenie for me is no longer a 90 minute player, he took his goal nicely but as the game wore on he gets slower and slower. He has lost that burst of speed over 5 metres that would other wise get him into more scoring positions. Pav showed what a quicker striker can do.

Can't see why Brown is playing so far forward. He seems to get in Sanchez's way a lot. Brown looks at his best when he comes forward with a late run to meet a header or to strike on goal. When he is static outside the box and tries to dribble around players its like he is playing in gumboots.

Our best attacking games this season(without Ifill) have been when we have had a central spine of Smith deeper and Sanchez and Daniel playing creatively in front with Leo and/or Ward doing their stuff out wide.

Warner is NOT a better keeper than Paston. He is an OK keeper but IMO Paston is more nimble on his feet. I can think of 5 or 6 goals that Warner has conceded that a quicker footed keeper might have got a hand on. Its just bizzare that Paston is not playing.

Time for someone to set up a pole. Simple question..who would you prefer start in goal for the Nix....Warner or Paston?

7.5? Really?... I'd have him a solid 8 lol... he's a shadow without his old dancing partner alongside him. Ljubo obviously wore the pants.

True. Although not according to Harry Ngata, who says that Hyphen is "probably the best player for the Jets this season".

Brilliant display, really got my faith back in our ability to attack. Yes the biplanes were rubbish, but we actually looked like a team which was awesome.

What would I change in that lineup?

I would swap Leo for Ifill when he's back.
Lochy back in at left, and then Manny into Brown's position. That would mean Smith would be able to push forward on occasion, with the knowledge that Manny is holding the fort.

I'd also swap Paston for Warner. But that's cause I simply rate Paston over Warner.

I hope we sign Smith long term. So versatile, and seems very composed.
