PERTH Glory have cracked a player-swap deal with English
Premier League giants Manchester City.
Sounds like an excellent way of rotating experience and putting local players in the world spotlight.
But it could turn into a tallent drain.

Kingz - Chelsea
Knights - Charlton
Perth - Leeds
Northern Spirit - Rangers
...and there are more
The Aus/NZ clubs have got not one single thing out of this and I doubt seriously if this will turn out any different.
In fact Rangers screwed Spirit over as comprehensively as Sky f**ked the Kingz.

Funnily enough, that's just about what I was going to
say!
Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

I agree, I remember all the hoopla about the Chelsea and Charlton
links but don't remember anything coming out of it. We
weren't expecting Frank Lampard or Darren Bent but a couple of
promising reserve or youth players would have been good.
Excuse my ignorance regarding the backroom stuff but how did Sky
mess up the Kingz? Sounds like a good expose-type book.

we (being the English club) take your best players....here have
some of our up and comers....sounds like a fair swap. NOT

But the 'up and comers' never actually appear.
They'll send a couple of coaches at some point who will run an academy and that will be it.
In this case it's publicity to try and take some focus off how the club that was the NSL benchmark has been turned in to a shambles by the FFA and two sets of owners.

They showed the games on TV, which resulted in the whole
nation realising that they were, in fact, crappers and sending
football fans outside of Auckland into a deep, deep
depression
