Hi All,

It was quite frustrating watching Sunday game, and getting the usally questions from mates, as to why I wont buy a Phoenix shirt. I can answer those questions. The ONLY answer is that I will always be an Arsenal fan. I follow the progress of our only pro team, and am so happy that they have come so far in a short space of time. The playing staff will improve, and under Ricky, they have a coach who knows what he is doing and given time and resources he will deliver the goods to Wellington and to NZ. But to wear another teams shirt would be disrespectful to the team that I truly a fan of, and a global brotherhood of fellow Gooners.

So in summing up every Phoenix home game, I will gracing the seats with a different Arsenal shirt.

Maybe Ricky could ask Arsene, if he could send a couple of traniees down here for some real hands on the job training, as the A League is a pretty physical place, and that would toughen up the young players.

Or maybe in wildest dreams Mr Terry could bring an Arsenal reserve side down this way for a exhibition game.

Congrats on whats been achieved, and Go The Phoneix.

P.S Come on guys lets get some new chants!!! We need them

I understand why you won't buy a Phoenix shirt.. kind of... but it's a whole different thing wearing another club's shirt to the football.

Is following the Phoenix any different from following a team in the UK? If I was at Elland Road and saw someone with a different shirt than a Leeds shirt on, the first thing I'd say is "what the f*ck you wearing that for? Don't you know where you are".

No problems if someone doesn't want ot invest in a club shirt, but to turn up with with another club's colours.. that's just downright crappy.

I am finding it dfficult to buy phoenix merchandise for myself, and perhaps a Retro Ricky shirt is the easy option, but my kids (and there's four of them) each have a Phoenix top, and despite my best attempts to indoctrinate them into the ways of LUFC, I accept that for them the Phoenix wil become their team.

I would never allow them to turn up at the Westpac with anyother club's shirt... just not cricket mate...

I wont wear the black phoenix shirt as I think it's design is crap, but offer me a 2XL away shirt and I'll wear it to bed as well as the games!
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!
