Ok, first of all, big ups to all of you who entered the podcast quiz competition. Some of you even went beyond the call and named not only the player who missed the penalty that saw England knocked out of Euro 96 (Gareth Southgate) but also the player who missed an earlier penalty in the shoot out (David Batty, who was always garbage and shouldnt have been playing for England in the first place).

From my memory, no one else missed in the 96 shoot-out (shearer, gazza, pearce, platt??, sheringham??) and Batty missed in France 98 against the Argies.
I loved that in 98 when it went to sudden death, "the guv'nor" (a nickname he gave himself) Paul Ince showed his lack of bottle by letting David Batty, a man who had never taken a penalty in a competitive game, go before him.
