Possible New Signing?

A strong rumour floating around amongst the Football Community here in Melbourne is that there are several A-League clubs lining up for "Bulgarian Striker" currently playing in the Bulgarian APFG.

The interested clubs are Newcastle Jets, North Queensland, Adelaide United and the Wellington Phoenix with Melbourne Victory not prepared to comment at the moment.

It has been said that while the player is keen on playing Asian Champions League football he is more interested in playing for a club that can guarantee him First Team football.

I'm on the phone now to try to find any truth in this rumour. It did come from quite a reliable source who works for a local media agency

Not yet you're not....

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Daniel Parejo would have been a good signing but I hear he's just signed an extension at Real Madrid. 20 years old.

Well, I'm sure if the Nix had made an approach soon enough he would have signed LG! Real and Phoenix, decision easy enough!

On topic... who could the striker be?
i assume an older player in their 30's?
And unsigned for next season too?

After a light browse on the Bulgarian league, i couldn't easily find many strikers who have become free agents just recently. most are midfielders or defenders or not Bulgarian?

Closest i came was Gursel Veli  offensive midfielder. but has played striker.
although he is only 26..

Anyone know of any other options?

Sorry, exactly what is the point of this thread when we have a perfectly good Transfer Speculation thread?

Rumours are rife in the Pukekohe football community that the Phoenix are keen to sign a player currently playing in the Northern or Southern Hemisphere somewhere.

A bloke in the pub told me that the player concerned is believed to be a striker, a midfield player, a defender or perhaps a goalkeeper.

After buying him a pint, the bloke in the pub said that the player concerned has never heard of the A league and doesn't really give a sh*t whether he comes here or not, but is willing to give it a crack if the deal is right (and GCU don't get in first)

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Mr Jag's agent issued a statement saying "Jag has signed a letterof intent, he is a man of honour and I'm sure these rumours concerning a possible move to the Wellington Phoenix are without foundation"

Or did you mean I was the guy in the pub?

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

I hear both Yordan Letchkov and Lubomir Penev are available...and good pedigree too.

So is this an unfunny joke-thread like the one about Bugduv the Moldovan?  Or is there a tiny foundation that supports it?
