2nd striker (target man) in for Costa, better of (based on form at the time) Costa, Kruse, Krishna on bench along with our new 7' goalie and better of Daniel, Hearfield.

He dribbles a lot and the opposition dont like it - you can see it all over their faces. (Ron Atkinson)

Makes me lol very hard how little pride the person who photoshops the heads onto the bodies has in their work.  Manny Muscat, Diego, and Barbarouses are probably the best laughs of them all.

Personally, I'd go with the following:
                                Paston

Muscat          Sigmund          Durante          Lochhead

                              McKain

Hearfield                 Brown                    Diego

               Krishna             Greenacre

Bench:
Ferrante
Bertos
Pelter
Crowther

Lia/Diego            McKain               Brown/Kruse (att. midfield) Daniel/Leo

                               Greenacre                 New Striker/Costa

Bench

Ferrante

Just with the named we've got atm. Gonna be ambitious with a 4-3-3 style with two wide forwards:
                 Paston
Lia    Sigmund   Durante   Lochead

          Brown       McKain

                    Diego
Bertos                                Costa/Krishna/Hearfield/Kruse
                  Greenacre

Crowther
Muscat
Daniel
Costa/ Hearfield / Krishna / Kruse

I guess that All the wingers can play either side and all but bertos and hearfield would be alright up front in the middle

just to have my 5c worth.

i don't relly think Krishna is all that good.

i watched the NZFC final and although he had some nice touches, he miss an open goal from 3 yards out.

and also his shooting is way-ward to say the least.

Based on what we have:

                         Paston

               Dura            Siggy
Muscat                                 Lochhead

             McKain   Brown
Lia                                    Bertos
                  Diego

              Greenacre

Costa
Hearfield
Christie
Daniel

Mulligan for Christie if he isn't re-signed.

Or providing we make the signings:

                            Paston

                      Dura         Siggy
    Muscat                                     Lochhead

                          McKain
Bertos                                                Kruse
                          Diego

          Targetman     Greenacre

Crowther
Brown
Daniel
Costa

f**k I've missed doing this

Yeah it's looking pretty grim atm. Hopefully we get 3 or so more key signings, then I think we can be competitive.

I don't Think we are too bad. I'm having trouble deciding lineups. But if all our signings are starting/Subs then we will have competition.

Fark itd be cool if we could find a striker called Targetman

possible subs: Crowther, Christie, Mulligan, Durante, Ferrante, Lia, Hearfield, Barbarouses, Corrales, another centre back

I'd like to see McKain as a centre back because I think that is his best position according to me.

I just don't think the side atm is better than last seasons, where we finished 6th.

Fair enough. Just gotta try replace the old players with new signings who are better and I don't think this is too hard.

The hard 3 to replace are:
Smeltz, Moss and Dodd
Smeltz Could be replaced by Greenacre without to much loss in talent
Don't know about Crowther against Mossy though..
And we gotta find a better CB because last season there were constant swaps and changes in the team.

But the others: Coveny, Draper, Kwasnik, Johnson, and possibly Christie; could imo be easily improved on for this season. If we can get people in to replace these guys who will fight for starting positions then I'd be very happy.

Maybe a Leftback too please!
And lets try and not let ferrante sit on the bench. Lets find someone else

the squads looking reasonably competitive, def not complete thats for sure

i think the FFA has  gotta look at the amount of subs allowed - 4 (1 is a keeper) is a bit harsh, doesnt give many players a chance. Or the coach for that matter to try be creative

I've wondered why they dont go the 5 or 7 players on the bench routine that is being picked up in europe I believe.
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

Yeah its strange.
Don't they extend the bench for finals football?

Its not really fair on coaches if the get an injury

Think the usual answer is "travel costs"

Simple!

Home teams allowed 7 Subs and Away teams 5!

Sorted!

away teams usually have excess players in thier squad anyway just in case of injury dont they - there is always that 2 to be omitted thing so extra travel costs isnt really a good excuseMan_utd_fan2009-05-02 18:31:11

NO not kruse! Possibly going to be the worst signing of the season!
Not to mentio replacing Smeltz and Moss with nobodys!

Its hardly likely Greenacre is going to turn himself into star at the age of 31.
After signing for the Nix i asked a pal of mine (Tranmere supporter) how good this bloke was? His response: Old, Injured and 4th in the pecking order of strikers.
Hope this Greenacre can prove me wrong.

Yes and I've also gone on the Tranmere fansites, and they said it's ok that he is going as he was expensive, and had picked up some injuries, but also sad to see such a "great servant" go.

When fans talk like that, about guys who serve their team, it means you've got a guy who  gives a sh*t about playing football, so I'd rather give him a chance than slag him off before he's kicked a ball for us.

At this stage it doesn't look much different from last year.
Stand stiill = move backwards.
Hopefully we get some significant signings soon.
This comp will be a big step up from last year.
