Predict the crowd for the Boca Juniors game

Apparently the average Phoenix crowd in the last season (according to Wikipedia with no reference/source quoted) was 8,965.

How many are you expecting for the Boca game?

Such a shame the ticket price will put this game out of a lot of family and students' reach.

Sellout?

I wouldn't think many students will be here. It would have been a killer way to get a whole heap there considering we all are just returning back from holidays. Then gaining some more members.

Can you still buy season passes? Cos it's another missed opportunity if they don't have "buy a season's pass at the same time to get 10% off your Boca ticket".

I'm thinking 25,000. Don't forget the hordes of us coming down from Thames! Or at least Auckland.

It's on at exactly the same time as Shapeshifter in the town hall... now I know loads of you won't care about that but many of the student types (&myself) will prioritise Shapeshifter as they are one of NZ's greatest bands and rarely play in NZ these days apart frm the large NYE festivals. apparently tickets for them are selling fast

Boca Juniors are much bigger than any New Zealand band though! They may not play here much but you can see them another time, not the case for Bocas. Get in there, SK!

Now the prices have been announced, NO CHANCE IN HELL of a sellout, unless the World Cup Final is NZ v Argentina.

Yeah i optimistically went for 20-25k.

Am sure theyre not fussed, didn't Boca pay us to play them? Go the impression when it was announced, that we win no matter the crowd size.

Though...why then would you set prices so high?

Allegedly

I am thinking with the timing and the ticket prices, 20-25K people.

Might get over the 25K mark, if the prices were a bit lower.

Good point...

My main point was not the prices, but the fact im not sure the phoenix are too worried if it isnt a sellout, due to costs being covered either way.

The prices was just a random secondary rant

hopefully heaps of support due to the success of the All Whites and the Phoenix last year.

I've spoken to a few semi-regular people, and they think it sounds expensive...

surely the same prices as for the All Whites game would have encourage more people to attend......this friendly match
